Summary Description:

Responsible for supporting security features (TDGSS and Gateway) within the Teradata DBS software on all supported platforms. Work with engineering team members to isolate and resolve problems related to the security features in authentication/authorization and network traffic encryption in general. Participate in planning, design, code, test, and documentation of software components according to a standard development process. Candidate will be expected to work closely with team leader, project manager, team members as well as members of other development organizations.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Graduate or Post graduate in Computer Science or related field.
• Four to Six years of IT experience
• Experience and good understanding of design and implementation of Unix applications.
• Strong C programming skills is required and a knowledge of Java a plus.
• Experience in architectural design and implementation of client/server applications and network protocols (such as TCP/IP) desirable.
• Ability to understand product features and functionalities from design documents and analyzing code modules, execute testing according to test plan and document results with some supervision.
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience working in HP/UX, AIX, Windows etc. client environments a plus.
• Experience in GSS (Generic Security Services) a plus.
• Experience with LDAP and directory services concepts and integration a plus
• Experience working with Relational Databases (RDBMS) and SQL a plus.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Responsible for resolving internally and externally generated Defect Reports (DRs) in the areas of TDGSS and GTW components. 
• Support must be provided in both 32 bit and 64 bit Linux operating systems. Additional client platform (such as Solaris, MAC, AIX) supports as needed.
• Participate in design, code, test and documentation of feature enhancements as needed.
• Write technical documents that accurately describe unit test plans and reports. Execute tests according to approved test plans.
• Aptitude for understanding complex software from the functional and technical perspective.
• Report progress against objectives on periodic basis

Key Competencies/Skills:

• Strong programming skills with C.
• Software debugging experience in Linux/Unix O/S.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technology

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Works well in a team environment

The following skills are desirable but not required:

• SQL
• Teradata database knowledge
• Clearcase version control
• Java, Perl
