We are looking to hire an Engineering Manager to work at our prestigious Teradata R&D Labs at Hyderabad to be part of Teradata’s database query optimizer team and head the fast growing Feature Test group.

With primary development center in Hyderabad, and two R&D facilities in Bangalore and Pune the team is more than 500 engineers. R&D Labs at Hyderabad is the biggest R&D division outside of San Diego facility, and has teams producing world class features for the Teradata Data Platform and Aster Analytics Architecture. The Labs team in India work on wide variety of products and technologies including core database internals, both on the server and client side of the Teradata’s world renowned database platform, Aster, Hadoop, Teradata’s cloud offerings and performance engineering

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science with 10-12 years’ experience in Test Development and methodologies, Automation, CI/CD, Agile Testing. Development experience during career will be preferred.

Role & Responsibilities

• Helps grow a team comprising of Developers, Performance Test, Automation, Test Data Management Engineers in the Query Optimization Team
• Contributes, develops and continuously improves development teams in feature development, bug fixing and the test team capabilities in feature testing, validation testing, CI/CD, Agile Testing for Query Optimization team
• Understand the existing Query Optimizer code base and test methodologies.
• Responsible for development of test resources and Research & Development for optimal testing processes in the Query Optimization area.
• Proven working experience in software engineering

Requirements 

• 10- 12 years of relevant Dev/Test experience, preferably in R&D based teams.
• People management
• Excellent understanding of testing methodologies
• Programming experience in C/C++
• Debugging experience in *nix OS
• Strong analytical abilities involving complex software in a parallel processing environment
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Strong documentation skills 

Preferred skills 

• Strong application skills for doing feature development and feature test development, performance testing, Automation testing Techniques using Agile and CI/CD.
• Understanding of RDBMS concepts
• Excellent people and interpersonal skills
• SQL Expertise
