Role Overview
The Senior Director of AI and Data Platform Delivery is a senior leadership role accountable for end‑to‑end execution of Teradata’s foundational AI and data platform offerings, which underpin the company’s hybrid, multi‑cloud, and on‑premises solutions. This role is critical to ensuring that Teradata’s platform continues to scale, modernize, and reliably support customer workloads, while enabling company growth through platform differentiation, adoption, and expansion.
This leader owns the execution strategy, operating model, and talent development for a combined organization of Technical Program Managers (TPMs) and Global Program Managers (GPMs). Together, these teams drive coordinated execution across the end-to-end New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring that new platform elements are fully productized, operationally ready, and commercially viable.
Success in this role is measured by platform delivery predictability, quality, scalability, and business impact, rather than ownership of individual programs.

Technical & Platform Leadership
- Provide technical and execution leadership across large‑scale, distributed, data‑intensive platforms, spanning cloud, hybrid, and on‑prem deployments.
- Guide teams through complex platform delivery challenges involving performance, reliability, scalability, security, upgrade paths, and operational continuity.
- Ensure cross‑team technical and operational risks are proactively identified, clearly owned, and mitigated.
- Partner with senior engineering and architecture leaders to ensure execution plans align with long‑term platform sustainability and customer trust.
- Co-own with engineering platform economics and cost‑to‑serve by influencing execution tradeoffs that impact margin, scaling limits, and long‑term pricing power.
- Co-own with engineering and product the platform lifecycle governance and technical debt liquidation at the portfolio level.
People & Organizational Leadership
- Build, lead, and scale a high‑impact organization of Technical Program Managers and Global Program Managers.
- Clearly define and reinforce roles and interfaces between TPMs (engineering‑centric delivery) and GPMs (cross‑functional, post‑code, market and operational readiness).
- Own hiring, performance management, development, and succession planning for the platform execution organization.
- Develop senior TPM and GPM leaders capable of operating effectively at enterprise scale and high ambiguity.
- Establish clear leveling, expectations, and promotion readiness standards for both TPM and GPM career paths.
Influence, Communication & Executive Partnership
- Act as a trusted execution advisor to senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Cloud Operations, Sales Engineering, Legal, and Customer organizations.
- Communicate platform execution health, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs clearly at the VP and executive level.
- Drive alignment across a highly matrixed organization supporting long‑lived, mission‑critical customer environments.
