Our Company

At Teradata, we believe that people thrive when empowered with better information. Teradata Autonomous Knowledge Platform activates enterprise intelligence by unifying data, knowledge and business context to achieve tangible outcomes. With Teradata, organizations can provide agents with full context for impact when it matters. Our solution lets businesses connect and scale on premises, in the cloud, or through a hybrid approach. Teradata delivers real business value with AI.

What You Will Do

As Senior Staff Product Manager for Data & AI Governance, you will define and drive the product strategy for Teradata Cloud's governance capabilities — spanning data access control, AI-powered classification, policy automation, metadata management, lineage propagation, data quality, and compliance — across the Teradata Cloud platform and its multi-cloud ecosystem.

This is a high-impact, senior-level role at the intersection of enterprise data infrastructure and agentic AI, working closely with the CPO and product leadership to shape Teradata's Autonomous Data Platform roadmap. You will own governance capabilities end-to-end: from vision and customer discovery through roadmap definition, engineering partnership, and go-to-market execution.

You will:

  1. Define and own the multi-year product strategy and roadmap for Data & AI Governance within Teradata Cloud, including fine-grained access control, AI-powered data classification, policy lifecycle management, business glossary, data lineage, lineage propagation, and AI model governance.
  2. Build governance as a shared platform layer: design primitives — RBAC controls, metadata automations, data certification workflows, and reverse metadata sync — that enable analytics, data engineering, and agentic workload teams to enforce consistent governance without duplicating effort.
  3. Drive agentic governance capabilities: automated classification using ML/AI agents, no-code workflow builders with condition logic and human approval gates, and policy enforcement that extends to AI agents operating over enterprise data.
  4. Own the end-to-end data governance lifecycle: from business glossary definition and approval workflows, to data product organization within domains, to governance KPI dashboards that demonstrate compliance impact to executives.
  5. Champion lineage-driven governance: ensure tags, descriptions, ownership, and tier classifications propagate automatically downstream through data lineage — reducing manual stewardship overhead at scale.
  6. Engage regularly with enterprise customers, sales engineers, and solution architects to surface pain points, validate product direction, and inform prioritization with real-world requirements from regulated industries (FSI, healthcare, public sector).
  7. Develop deep market and competitive intelligence across the governance landscape — Unity Catalog, Apache Polaris, Collate/OpenMetadata, Alation, Collibra, and open standards like Apache Iceberg and OpenLineage — and use it to define Teradata's differentiated positioning.
  8. Collaborate cross-functionally with product marketing, field engineering, and the broader Teradata Cloud platform team to drive product launches and customer adoption.
  9. Serve as an executive-level spokesperson and thought leader for Teradata's governance and data trust story, contributing to analyst briefings, customer advisory boards, and industry forums.
  10. Work in an agile environment to define requirements, write crisp PRDs, and maintain a well-prioritized backlog that balances innovation with enterprise reliability and performance.
  11. Work at the frontier of enterprise AI and data governance, shaping capabilities used by thousands of the world's largest organizations.
  12. Collaborate with a world-class product and engineering organization with deep expertise in high-performance, mission-critical data infrastructure.
  13. Have Senior-level visibility and influence — direct partnership with the CPO and executive leadership on company-defining roadmap decisions.
  14. Have Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits package.
  15. Have Flexible work environment with opportunities to engage directly with marquee enterprise customers globally.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

  1. 10+ years of enterprise B2B Product Management experience, with 5+ years in a senior or staff-level role.
  2. Deep understanding of data governance, metadata management, data security, or data cataloging — ideally from building products in this domain (experience with Collate/OpenMetadata, Alation, Collibra, Unity Catalog, or similar is a strong plus).
  3. Hands-on experience with databases, data warehouses, or cloud data platforms (Teradata Cloud, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or similar).
  4. Demonstrated ability to define product vision and roadmap strategy for platform-level capabilities serving multiple workload teams.
  5. Strong familiarity with AI-powered governance capabilities: automated data classification, lineage propagation, no-code workflow automation, and metadata-driven policy enforcement.
  6. Proven track record of delivering enterprise software products through cross-functional teams including engineering, field, marketing, and product marketing.
  7. Exceptional communication skills — able to articulate complex technical concepts to executive audiences and translate business needs into engineering-ready requirements.
  8. Strong familiarity with modern data stack and open standards (Apache Iceberg, OpenLineage, RBAC/ABAC patterns, data mesh / data product architecture).

What You'll Bring

  1. Experience with AI/ML governance, responsible AI frameworks, or model risk management in regulated industries.
  2. Familiarity with agentic AI architectures — specifically the governance challenges around tool use, data access auditability, and policy enforcement for AI agents.
  3. Background in compliance-driven product development: GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, or FedRAMP.
  4. Experience designing or working with business glossary, data certification, data contracts, or governance workflow products.
  5. Computer science, engineering, or a related technical degree.
