What You’ll Do
What the Role Is About
As a Customer Solution Architect (New Business), you will partner with Sales to support the acquisition of new customers. You will work directly with prospective clients to understand their data, analytics, and AI requirements and design technical solutions aligned to Teradata’s platform capabilities.
This role focuses on technical presales, solution design, and customer engagement for net‑new accounts.
What Impact This Role Has
- Support new customer acquisition by leading the technical aspects of presales engagements.
- Translate customer challenges into scalable data, analytics, and AI architectures.
- Help customers evaluate Teradata through demonstrations, proofs of concept, and workshops.
- Contribute to revenue growth by supporting successful deal execution.
What Success Might Look Like
- Customers clearly understand how Teradata addresses their business and technical needs.
- Sales opportunities progress efficiently from discovery through to close.
- Technical risks are identified early and addressed through sound solution design.

- Account Executives and Sales Leaders focused on new business growth.
- Internal product, engineering, and architecture teams.
- Customer technical stakeholders, including data engineers, architects, and senior IT leaders.
- Members of Teradata’s global Customer Solution Architect community.
What Makes You a Qualified Candidate
- Experience in a Customer Solution Architect, Presales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or similar customer‑facing technical role.
- Background working with enterprise data platforms, analytics, cloud, or AI technologies.
- Hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience supporting sales cycles, including discovery, solution design, and customer presentations.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience supporting net‑new customer acquisition or complex enterprise sales cycles.
- Knowledge of data architecture, data warehousing, analytics platforms, or AI/ML solutions.
- Familiarity with proofs of concept, benchmarks, or technical evaluations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across sales, product, and engineering teams.
- Interest in emerging technologies, including AI and machine learning.
