What You'll do
Teradata is seeking a highly motivated and analytically driven Senior Finance Professional to join our Global Finance team. In this high-visibility role, you will serve as the primary financial steward for Go-to-Market (GTM) Operating Expenditure (OPEX), partnering directly with SVP-level GTM functional leaders across the globe. You will own the end-to-end OPEX forecasting cycle — from flash estimates through period close — and be a trusted advisor who translates complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for executive stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, global environment and is passionate about business partnering at the most senior levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Global GTM OPEX Forecasting & Planning
- Own and drive the global GTM OPEX forecast process, including annual operating plan, quarterly updates, and rolling forecasts across all GTM functional units.
- Develop and maintain robust financial models to project OPEX trends, identify variances, and surface risks and opportunities to senior leadership.
- Provide insightful variance analysis comparing actuals to forecast and plan, delivering clear narratives that explain drivers and proposed actions.
Flash & Close Process
- Lead the monthly flash and period-close process for GTM OPEX, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of financial reporting.
- Coordinate with Accounting, FP&A, and Controllership teams to validate close entries and accruals, resolving discrepancies with a sense of urgency.
- Produce executive-ready flash reports and close commentary that distill complex data into concise, decision-relevant summaries.
Global OPEX Consolidation
- Consolidate OPEX data across multiple global GTM functional units, geographies, and cost categories into a single, coherent financial view.
- Establish and maintain scalable reporting frameworks and data governance standards to ensure consistency and integrity of consolidated OPEX reporting.
- Identify and drive process improvement opportunities within the consolidation and reporting workflow to increase efficiency and reduce cycle times.
SVP-Level Business Partnering
- Serve as the dedicated finance business partner for SVP-level GTM functional leaders, including Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Alliances.
- Build trusted relationships with executive stakeholders by delivering proactive, forward-looking financial guidance that supports strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and present regular financial reviews, business performance updates, and investment analyses to senior leadership, including Board and C-Suite materials as needed.
- Challenge assumptions and influence resource allocation decisions, providing a strong financial perspective that aligns GTM investments with company priorities.
Who You'll Work With
Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Alliances.
What Makes You a Qualified Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive finance experience, with a strong emphasis on FP&A, business partnering, and OPEX management in a technology or SaaS company.
- Demonstrated experience managing global or multi-region OPEX forecasting and consolidation processes.
- Proven track record of partnering with SVP or C-Suite level executives and influencing strategic decisions through financial insight.
- Deep expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills — the ability to translate complex financial data into compelling narratives for non-finance audiences is essential.
- High proficiency with financial planning tools and ERP systems (Oracle).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with BI tools (e.g. Power BI) a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience with AI usage and utilization (Claude, CoPilot)
- US-based with availability to collaborate across global time zones.
What You'll Bring
- Experience in enterprise software, data analytics, or cloud technology sectors.
- Familiarity with GTM motions including direct sales, channel/alliances, and customer success operations.
- Experience supporting organizational transformation or restructuring from a financial planning perspective.
- Prior exposure to Teradata products or the enterprise data and analytics market.
