What You’ll Do
The Senior Teradata Consultant is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of analytical and data warehousing solutions based on the Teradata platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Architecture and Development
- Design and develop Data Warehouse and Data Lake solutions on Teradata.
- Perform logical and physical data modeling, optimizing performance and scalability.
- Develop and optimize advanced SQL, stored procedures, and data load processes.
- Implement ETL/ELT processes using Teradata tools (TPT, BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, etc.).
- Optimize queries, execution plans, and system resource utilization.
Consulting and Technical Leadership
- Act as a technical reference for complex data projects.
- Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Provide consulting and guidance on Teradata best practices (performance, security, governance).
- Lead technical reviews and define development standards.
- Mentor and support junior and semi‑senior consultants.
Project and Stakeholder Management
- Participate in estimations, planning, and scope definition.
- Engage with clients, business users, and cross‑functional teams.
- Ensure delivery timelines, quality standards, and project objectives are met.
- Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Operations and Support
- Analyze and resolve performance and availability issues.
- Monitor batch and near‑real‑time processing workloads.
- Support platform migrations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
Who You’ll Work With
The role acts as both a technical and functional expert, working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and clients to ensure scalable, high‑performance solutions aligned with strategic goals.
What Makes You a Qualified Candidate
- Strong experience designing and implementing Data Warehouse/Data Lake solutions on Teradata.
- Advanced SQL skills and hands‑on expertise with TPT, BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Solid background in logical/physical data modeling and performance optimization.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Experience leading technical reviews, setting development standards, and mentoring junior consultants.
- Project involvement: estimations, planning, scope definition, and stakeholder engagement.
- Operational expertise resolving performance issues, monitoring workloads, and supporting upgrades/migrations.
