Job Title: Cloud Support Specialist

Job Location: Prague, CZ(Flexible/Virtual)

Job Summary 

The Cloud Operations Administrator is responsible to manage the cloud stack and related virtualized components that make part of Teradata’s as-a-Service offering on the public cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP)
Delivery responsibilities in the areas of cloud services general support, system administration, network administration, security administration, optimizing the environment and management of incidents and changes.
 

Key Responsibilities   

Manage and provide 24x7 support for Teradata environments hosted on AWS, Azure, and GCP
Perform day-to-day support operations for the Cloud services stack and operating system of the virtual systems, following security and operations best practices while considering the standard operating procedures already in place
Plan and execute backup, archive, and recovery procedures for cloud-based data warehouses
Respond to cases and incidents adhering to established SLAs / SLOs
Support the maintenance of availability SLAs for the service environment.

Basic Qualifications

4 Year Engineering Degree or graduation in computer / IT or a relevant major

Mandatory Skills / Attributes

1+ years of experience in IT as a Systems Administrator or System Support Engineer
Hands-on experience with Public Cloud (multi-cloud experience preferred)
Demonstrable knowledge of cloud services for Compute, Storage, Network, and OS for at least one of the following cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, GCP
Demonstrable experience in Linux administration
Eagerness to further grow in Public Cloud expertise and gain certifications
An understanding of ITIL (certification will be an advantage)
Ability to support 24x7 rotational shift-based coverage. 

Preferred Skills/Certifications

Hands on experience with Teradata administration and strong understanding of Cloud capabilities and limitations
Thorough understanding of Cloud Computing: virtualization technologies, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service and Software as a Service Cloud delivery models and the current competitive landscape
Thorough understanding of infrastructure (firewalls, load balancers, hypervisor, storage, monitoring, security etc.)
Experience to support / troubleshoot cloud environment’s various network connectivity methods
Good understanding of logging & monitoring
Good understanding of data archive/restore policies
Understanding of Shell Scripting.
2 Year for Teradata/DBMS Experience (good to have)
Working experience on any of the RDBMS like Oracle//DB2/Netezza/Teradata/SQL Server, MySQL.
 

Others

Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language

Good team player.
