Quality Engineer Manager

External Description:

Teradata Analytics Applications is seeking a talented Quality Engineering Manager with deep technical expertise to take our quality engineering program to the next level. The Quality Engineering Manager will work with our quality engineers and developers to build frameworks and reliable test suites to ensure that our systems’ performance and reliability exceed our customers’ expectations. The Quality Engineering Manager must have a strong grasp of various testing methodologies including functional, regression, performance, and load-testing.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in Agile development processes and focus on the best way to test various features to support our software quality efforts.

• Work with the team to create a fault tolerant and robust test cases and that can be used to continuously validate the quality of our software.
• Evaluate current quality engineering practices and techniques to ensure best of breed automation techniques are being utilized and make adjustments where necessary
• Implement information radiators to make automation test results accessible by the entire organization
• Work with feature, automation and performance testers to design and implement a cohesive testing strategy

Qualifications:

• Strong background in designing or extending existing test frameworks
• Expert in writing reusable test cases as well as story based acceptance criteria
• Experience in agile software tracking system like JIRA
• Experience testing web services.
• Software test and/or engineering experience, including but not limited to:
  • relational database environments and test methodologies
  • unit, functional, and regression testing
  • security, load, and performance testing
• Previous management or team lead experience is desired

Requirements:

• 5+ years related industry experience
• S. in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
• Must be a self-starter and able to work well with others in a fast-paced agile environment with an emphasis on collaborating and assisting the team to meet business objectives
