Job Position Details – Software Engineer II

Summary Description: Primary responsibility will be development, enhancement, maintenance, and of support Viewpoint and other UDA applications.

Candidate expected to work closely with team lead to implement enhancements, bug fixes, and assist users in resolving problems. Good programming knowledge in Java and Web development is essential. Exposure to scripting skills and working exposure in continuous integration tools is added advantage.

Education and Experience Requirements:
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
• 2+ years programming experience

Key Competencies/Skills:

• Strong Java programming skills
• Strong Web development skills (HTML/CSS/JS)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong debugging skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to learn and adapt to recent technologies and attention to detail
• Working Knowledge on SQL and Database
• Ability to follow documented specifications and plans with minimal supervision
• Ability to work independently on medium complex design and development tasks
• Exposure programming principles and design patterns
• Java server page development, spring framework

Desired but not required skills

• SQL, Teradata Database Knowledge
• Exposure to ActiveMQ, iBATIS is a plus

Project Assignment:
Develop, enhance and support Teradata UDA applications. Strong programming skills are required to enhance and fix issues in existing software and help implement new features in next versions. Excellent debugging and analysis skills are desired in order to identify the root cause of various problems and to provide a fixes without introducing regressions

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Develop, enhance, test, and support Teradata UDA products/applications.
• Aptitude for understanding complex software from the functional and technical perspective.
• Report progress against objectives on periodic basis.
• Work on future products, developing POCs/demos – leveraging/learning-quickly latest and greatest technologies
• Write technical documents that accurately describe unit test plans and reports.

Scope:
• Individual Contributor closely working with project team lead, team members, reports to engineering manager.
