Job Title: Test Lead

 

Summary Description

The primary responsibility will be leading test team with focus on owning complete product integration test phase, which includes feature interaction test case development for new / existing Database features, validation Teradata releases, etc. Should able to understand the Teradata feature specifications to create test specifications and test plans. Participate as part of a team to develop new testing methodologies to improve Teradata quality and robustness. Candidates with Testing and/or Quality Assurance experience are required. Need to find innovative ways to improve Teradata testing & to develop automation tools to support testing & test development. Monitor the Teradata problems encountered at Customer sites and incorporate them into the testing methodology is expected. Knowledge/Experience doing Code Coverage and Coverity Tool analysis would be a plus.

 

Additional responsibility will include isolating and troubleshooting the problems & providing assistance to the developers in resolving problems encountered in testing. Candidate will be expected to work closely with Engineering Manager & Team members.  SQL knowledge is required. Scripting skills in Python & shell are required. 

 

Education / Experience Requirements:

Graduate or Post Graduate in Computer Science with a minimum of 10+ years of experience

Testing and/or Quality Assurance experience is a strong plus.

Strong SQL skills

Strong Python/Shell Scripting skills

Desired programming skills in C/C++ and Java

Knowledge on Jenkins, Github

Ability to work with Engineering Manager & Team members required

Teradata knowledge a plus.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Develop Feature Test Specifications for new database features

Develop feature interaction test cases for new / existing Database features and CLCA DRs.

Participate in Closed Loop Corrective Action analysis to improve Teradata quality, robustness, and predictability.

Identify critical areas and high-risk areas of the Teradata database.

Develop an automation framework for improved testing.

Identify new testing tools that can be used to improve Teradata quality.

Mentor more junior test engineers
