Job Summary: 

Teradata Product Development Group is seeking experienced Software Engineers to join their innovative Database Platform and Advanced Analytics team. Responsibilities include:

Research, design, and develop key features for Teradata’s Machine Learning Engine, with focus on scalability and performance on a MPP system,
Analyze the shortcomings of existing systems and propose innovative design alternatives,
Collaborate with a team of skilled, motivated engineers through the product lifecycle, including architecture, product support issues, documentation, beta testing, and bug fixes,
Present newly developed functionalities/features in Teradata tech talks,
Own components of the Machine Learning Engine and contribute to its architecture,
Opportunity to technically lead a small group of engineers.
 

Required skills: 

Strong C++ and/or Java design and development experience,
Research and/or extensive work experience in Data Warehousing, Analytic Engines, Query Planning and Processing Algorithms, or Cloud Databases,
Excellent analytical ability and problem-solving skills,
Detail oriented with the ability to work independently,
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
MS in computer science/engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
 

Preferred Experience and Education:

 Experience with newer big data technologies, such as Spark and TensorFlow, and related products, is a plus,

Experience with clustering systems, such as Docker and Kubernetes, and related technologies, is a plus,
Experience with Query optimizations for Cloud is a plus,
