We are looking for a DevOps Automation Engineering Manager to work at our prestigious Teradata R&D Labs at Hyderabad to be part of Teradata’s Quality Engineering team.

Job Title: Engineering Manager - DevOps

Location: Hyderabad

Position: Full Time

Reports To: Engineering Director

 

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with an overall 12+ years relevant experience in high end technologies. 5+ years of experience in designing and developing automation and test harness using DevOps tool stack with minimum of 3 years of experience in people management role is required.

Role & Responsibilities

• Oversee and develop DevOps processes, procedures and dashboards to rapidly transition new services into production
• Own the development roadmap and long-term strategic goals towards automation/CICD on multiple platforms – On-prem/Cloud
• Manage individual projects, priorities, deadlines and deliverables as per Teradata standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional, cross-geographic engineering teams to achieve shared objectives, provide strategic insight and lead continuous automation efforts in on-prem as well as cloud operations and services
• Work closely with software engineers, test engineers, technical leads, other partner quality assurance teams, product and feature managers, engineering directors and other engineering teams to assess and scope the automation needs to deliver high-quality product
• Involve to coach team to improve/maintain the high quality in design, develop, test, deploy & maintenance cycle
• Manage the team of automation engineers and own the delivery of various automation framework, tools and Test-as-a-Service models, to help delivery of high-end quality products
• Inspire, grow, and develop talent while providing vision and setting direction for the team based on organization’s objectives and lead effectively through outcomes rather than tasks

Preferred skills

• Exceptional automation and/or programming skills
• Strong development experience on Python and Ansible
• Strong Knowledge on containerization using Docker/Kubernetes
• Strong technical leadership skills, but also be able to dive into the details as needed
• Knowledge on CI/CD tools – Jenkins, GitHub, Gradle, MVN etc.
• Familiarity on Visualization tools – Grafana, Tableau
• Experience in delivering as-a-service models
• Excellent people management skills
• Working knowledge of UNIX operating systems is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools
• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Possess the social aptitude to work with geographically distributed and culturally diverse teams
