The Business Analytics Solutions team’s mission is to build out the world-class analytics ecosystem for Teradata. We are looking for experienced technical resources with a passion for taming enterprise data at scale with innovative technologies, built on robust application frameworks to accelerate delivery and simplify operations. Leverage your skills in designing and building out an integrated analytics ecosystem to drive Teradata’s business and provide a reference architecture for our customers.
The Teradata Senior Staff Analytics Ecosystem Architect will help lead the ongoing design, development, and evolution of a world-class analytics ecosystem for Teradata with the goal of fully enabling the Sentient Enterprise. The foundation of the analytics ecosystem is a centralized, multi-instance data platform requiring full-featured data management tooling and infrastructure. The analytics ecosystem will include a fully integrated suite of analytics application frameworks, covering each of the following areas:
• Data Integration: Applications for acquiring data from batch and stream sources, interpreting the data in-flight, loading asynchronously into multiple data management platforms, and applying logic to transform operational data into relational analytics objects.
• Data Processing (including Data Science): Applications that consume enterprise data to produce actionable insights to drive business functions. Partner streaming and batch processing mechanisms to provide timely but efficient analysis for critical business functions. Integrate Data Science capabilities to enhance decision-making and enable autonomous learning.
• Data Management: Applications that help manage the content of the analytics ecosystem, including data lineage, metadata management, data quality, data patterns, data curation, and more.
• Data Presentation: Applications for presenting data for human consumption through sophisticated data visualizations that allow drill-through from a highly summarized view to the detailed events necessary to evaluate cause and effect. Includes automated alerting based on statistically significant variation of key business and operational metrics.
• Data Services: Applications for presenting data for programmatic consumption, including complex analytical data services in near real-time with millisecond latency to support in-flight business operations and autonomous decisioning.
The Senior Staff Analytics Ecosystem Architect will be responsible for making sure these frameworks integrate effectively and fully enable engineering and operational efficiency for all analytics applications. They will also be responsible for working with the Operations function to design for operational requirements such as security, physical resource utilization efficiency, and ease of operation.
Job Functions:
• Identify and execute on opportunities for innovation in the analytics ecosystem with a vision towards enabling the Sentient Enterprise.
• Collaborate with other architects and engineers on a fully realized analytics ecosystem design that interfaces effectively within the broader IT environment.
• Collaborate with analytics application engineers on framework designs and effective integration across frameworks.
• Build and evolve multi-layer architectural documentation for Teradata’s analytics ecosystem targeted for effective presentation of the architecture strategy to a broad range of personas from developers to executives.
• Partner with engineering and operational resources on increasing efficiency within the analytics ecosystem.
• Participate in requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and release of analytics applications and frameworks leveraging an agile methodology.
• Scope application framework design and engineering effort and work with project teams’ roadmaps to integrate framework enhancement and application delivery in an agile fashion.
• Drive collaboration with operations and on-call teams to provide on-going support and enhancements for deployed analytics ecosystem components.
Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience with data processing at scale (parallel processing technologies)
• 8+ years of experience with large scale analytics platforms.
• 6+ years of programming experience (Unix/C/Java/Scala/Python/…)
• 4+ years of integrated systems design and solutions architecture.
• 4+ years of platform design and architecture.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong collaboration skills within a project team and across teams.
• Experience working with other senior technical resources on sophisticated, cross-technology designs.
• Experience with modular design and code re-use.
• Experience with Teradata RDBMS.
• Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka).
• Knowledgeable in Java APIs, REST APIs, and/or services architecture.
• Experience with agile and waterfall project development methodologies.
• Experience with web frameworks like AngularJS, NodeJS and data visualization JS libraries is a plus.
• Experience with cloud technologies is a plus.
• Experience with machine learning is a plus.
• Experience with graph processing is a plus.
