External Description:

The Business Analyst (BA) is a technical expert responsible for breaking down business level stories to technical stories for TD Applications R&D stakeholder teams in an Agile Scrum environment. The Business Analyst must be able to communicate clearly, listen, proactively mitigate conflicts, collect detailed requirements, consider inter-dependencies and achieve desired results. This is an operational and technical role directly related to high value understanding of customer requirements within a fast-paced, globally diverse stakeholder organization.

Roles and Responsibilities

• The Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for translating business level stories to technical stories and sub-tasks from higher level themes and epics into clearly defined actionable deliverables for R&D stakeholder’s execution. Experience working with product owners to define acceptance criteria in a JIRA environment.
• Excellent relationship building, communication and collaboration skills; expresses technical and business/functional requirements with high level of competency both orally and in writing. Drive key stakeholders understanding, consensus and approval.
• Experience handling multiple release requirements in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment with ability to reach decisions in a timely manner.
• Demonstrated analytical skills to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from detailed information to a more general understanding
• Ability to distinguish solution ideas from requirements with attention to capturing the appropriate level of details required for accuracy.
• Work with Product Owners or other functional leads to track and maintain requirements backlog within JIRA.
• Listens attentively and reinforces key concepts. Must be able to follow written and verbal directions from individuals and groups expeditiously.
• Performs other duties such as hosting or participating in calls, online or in person presentations, training etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
• At least five 5 years of progressive experience in IT as Business Analyst or Product Owner or related with very strong technical skills and abilities.
• Intermediate to advanced user of JIRA.
• Ability to work in the US without sponsorship preferred.

• Proven success as a business analyst, with demonstrated ability to deliver technical requirements for R&D stakeholder’s consumption.
• Collaborates with other members of the project team, involves others in making decisions that affect them. Draws on the strengths of colleagues, accepts assistance from other team members.
• Deadline-oriented, effectively works with diverse team to reach key decisions in a timely manner.
• Adaptable to changing needs of the organization and willingness to take-on ad hoc tasks as needed. Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of change and ambiguity.
• Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Wiki. JIRA and Confluence experience a must. Agile Certification’s or experience an asset.
