Our Team

This position is for a Staff DevOps Engineer in the Platform Services team within the Vantage Core Platform Software organization.
The team builds and operates cloud platform services powering provisioning, deployment, observability, and lifecycle management of Teradata compute infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
Key focus areas include:

Multi-cloud infrastructure automation and platform operations
CI/CD platforms and deployment automation at scale
Kubernetes and cloud-native platform engineering
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps practices
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), observability, and operational excellence
Security, compliance, and governance automation

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture and implementation of large-scale DevOps and cloud infrastructure platforms across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
Define and drive infrastructure automation strategy using Terraform and cloud-native services.
Establish engineering standards, best practices, and operational excellence frameworks adopted across multiple teams.
Design and evolve CI/CD platforms using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar technologies.
Lead Kubernetes platform architecture, deployment automation, and operational scalability initiatives.
Drive reliability, resilience, disaster recovery, and multi-region deployment strategies for critical cloud services.
Define and implement observability frameworks including monitoring, alerting, logging, tracing, and SLO/SLI practices.
Partner with engineering, security, networking, and platform teams to improve developer productivity and system reliability.
Lead incident response reviews, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Mentor engineers and influence technical direction across organizations.

Qualifications

Strong expertise in Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud infrastructure automation.
Deep experience designing and operating large-scale cloud platforms on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native architectures.
Expertise building enterprise CI/CD platforms using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or equivalent solutions.
Strong programming and automation skills in Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
Deep understanding of cloud networking, IAM, security controls, compliance, and multi-region architectures.
Experience implementing observability platforms using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, OpenTelemetry, or similar technologies.
Strong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices including incident management, capacity planning, and reliability engineering.
Proven ability to influence architecture and technical strategy across multiple teams and organizations.

Nice to Have

Experience operating large-scale multi-cloud platforms supporting mission-critical workloads.
Experience building Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) and self-service infrastructure capabilities.
Experience with GitOps technologies such as ArgoCD or Flux.
Experience with platform security, compliance automation, and governance frameworks.
Experience supporting SaaS and managed-service environments at enterprise scale.
AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, or Terraform certifications.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
Advanced degree with 6+ years of relevant industry experience.
