Our Company

Teradata is a trusted AI and knowledge platform. We connect data, business context, and AI so organizations can move from insight to real-time action across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. We work with many of the world’s largest enterprises across financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, and the public sector.

What You’ll Do

You will lead the technical work in Teradata’s new logo sales cycles across APJ, from first customer contact through the commercial decision. You will understand each prospect’s environment, design the right architecture, and create evidence through demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and benchmarks that gives customers confidence in Teradata.

  • Lead technical discovery, architecture design, competitive positioning, solution validation, and technical close plans for growth pursuits.
  • Run structured discovery sessions to understand the customer’s current environment, business priorities, pain points, workloads, security needs, and success criteria.
  • Prepare and present tailored architecture and solution proposals that explain how Teradata addresses the customer’s requirements and differentiates from alternative platforms.
  • Design and deliver rigorous proof-of-concepts using representative customer data and workloads. Own environment setup, test design, execution, results analysis, and stakeholder presentation.
  • Create sandbox environments that enable prospects to evaluate Teradata directly and demonstrate Compute Engine and Elastic Compute capabilities for workload scaling, cost efficiency, and resource separation.
  • Address competitive claims with accurate, evidence-based responses, p
  • Partner with sales on account targeting and qualification, focusing resources on prospects where Teradata’s technical profile aligns with customer requirements.
  • Build reusable reference architectures, competitive summaries, proof-of-concept frameworks, and industry-specific technical assets for the wider APJ and global Field Technology community.
  • Participate in executive briefings, customer workshops, industry events, and field marketing activities across APJ.
  • Document the customer environment and technical decisions clearly, then transition opportunities to the Enterprise CSA and account team. Share product feedback, capability gaps, and field insights with Product and Engineering.

Success after 12 months includes contributing technically to at least three new logo pursuits, supporting at least one closed deal, establishing a documented proof-of-concept framework for an APJ industry vertical, and becoming a trusted resource for competitive technical opportunities.

Who You’ll Work With

You will operate within a POD, a small cross-functional group of sales, presales, and customer success professionals aligned to a defined group of accounts or market segment. As the primary technical voice in the POD, you will partner closely with the Sales Lead on commercial priorities and with customer stakeholders ranging from architects and data teams to senior executives.

  • Report directly to the CSA Team Lead for the assigned territory or region, with a dotted-line relationship to the POD Sales Lead.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise CSAs and account teams to ensure a structured handover following a successful growth pursuit.
  • Work across APJ with Sales, Customer Success, Services, Partners, Product, Engineering, and the wider worldwide Field Technology organization.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

  • A record of delivering proof-of-concepts, winning technical evaluations, and contributing to closed enterprise data platform opportunities.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider, AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, plus practical SQL and Python skills for live customer environments.
  • Experience sizing enterprise data platforms using workload characteristics such as data volume, query concurrency, performance targets, and deployment constraints.
  • A degree in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, data science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

What You’ll Bring

  • Growth or hunter experience in one or more APJ markets, including Australia, Japan, ASEAN, Korea, or Taiwan.
  • Strong knowledge of modern data platform architecture, including parallel processing, lakehouse patterns, streaming ingestion, hybrid cloud, and query performance benchmarking.
  • Working knowledge of Teradata compute architecture, including Compute Engine and Elastic Compute, and the ability to position workload scaling and resource separation during technical evaluations.
  • Knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation architecture, embedding models, vector stores, similarity search, and how these capabilities support enterprise large language model workflows.
  • Experience using AI Studio or a comparable platform in a customer demonstration or proof-of-concept, with the ability to position an Enterprise Vector Store against specific use cases.

Understanding enterprise opportunity qualification, technical scoping, solution configuration, partner ecosystems, licensing, consumption models, quoting, and commercial scoping.

  • Confident communication with technical specialists and senior executives, supported by clear architecture proposals, proof-of-concept summaries, and RFP responses.
  • A precise, credible approach to competitive positioning, without overstatement, and the ability to translate technical evidence into business value.
