Position Summary
Teradata Japan is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Sales Manager, Financial Services Industry (FSI) to lead and grow our Banking, Insurance, Securities, and Financial Services business across Japan.
The Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing executive relationships, and leading a team of high-performing Account Executives focused on some of Japan's largest financial institutions. This leader will play a critical role in executing Teradata's growth strategy, helping customers leverage modern data, analytics, and AI solutions to achieve business transformation.
The ideal candidate brings a strong track record of enterprise software sales leadership, deep knowledge of the Japanese Financial Services market, and the ability to inspire teams while engaging directly with senior customer executives.
What You Will Do
Sales Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Executives focused on Financial Services customers across Japan.
- Create a high-performance culture centered on accountability, collaboration, and customer success.
- Attract, retain, and develop top sales talent.
- Implement best practices in account planning, opportunity management, and forecasting.
Business Strategy & Growth
- Develop and execute multi-year growth strategies for Teradata's Financial Services business in Japan.
- Drive revenue expansion across existing strategic accounts and new business opportunities.
- Identify emerging market trends and develop plans to capitalize on growth opportunities.
- Partner with leadership to establish annual business objectives and territory strategies.
Executive Customer Engagement
- Build trusted relationships with C-level executives, business leaders, and technology decision-makers within banking and financial institutions.
- Act as an executive sponsor for strategic customer engagements.
- Conduct executive briefings, business reviews, and transformation workshops.
- Help customers align AI and data initiatives with their business objectives.
Sales Execution
- Lead complex enterprise sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and business units.
- Ensure pipeline quality, forecast accuracy, and achievement of quarterly and annual targets.
- Support strategic negotiations and executive-level deal management.
- Drive disciplined sales execution across the team.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Solution Engineering, Customer Success, Consulting, Product Management, and Marketing teams.
- Align resources to deliver successful customer outcomes and expansion opportunities.
- Collaborate with JAPAC and global Financial Services leaders on strategic initiatives.
Ecosystem & Partner Development
- Strengthen relationships with key cloud providers, consulting firms, and system integration partners.
- Develop joint go-to-market strategies and partner-led growth initiatives.
- Increase market reach through ecosystem collaboration.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of enterprise technology sales experience.
- 5+ years of sales leadership or people management experience.
- Proven experience selling software, cloud, analytics, AI, or data platform solutions.
- Demonstrated success leading teams responsible for large enterprise customers.
- Strong understanding of the Japanese Banking and Financial Services sector.
- Track record of consistently achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and executive engagement skills.
- Business-level Japanese and professional English proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading enterprise software sales teams within Financial Services.
- Existing relationships with major banks, insurance companies, securities firms, and fintech organizations in Japan.
- Experience working with cloud transformation and AI initiatives.
- Knowledge of Financial Services regulatory and compliance environments.
- Experience with consultative and value-based selling methodologies.
- MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
