Position Summary

Teradata Japan is seeking a highly motivated Account Executive to drive growth within the Financial Services sector, focusing on major Banking, Insurance, Securities, and Financial Services organizations across Japan.

This role is responsible for developing executive-level relationships, identifying complex business opportunities, and leading strategic sales engagements that help customers transform their data, analytics, and AI capabilities. The successful candidate will collaborate with Solution Engineering, Customer Success, Consulting, and ecosystem partners to deliver high-value business outcomes while achieving revenue objectives.

The ideal candidate combines strong enterprise sales skills, experience selling into financial institutions, and the ability to engage both business and technical stakeholders in large-scale digital transformation initiatives.

What You Will Do

Strategic Account Management

  • Develop and execute account strategies for assigned Financial Services customers throughout Japan.
  • Build trusted relationships with C-level executives, business leaders, data leaders, risk executives, and technology stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Teradata's footprint across data modernization, AI, analytics, cloud, and governance initiatives.
  • Create and maintain long-term account plans aligned with customer business objectives.

Business Development

  • Generate new opportunities within existing and target Financial Services accounts.
  • Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline to consistently achieve or exceed quota.
  • Position Teradata as a trusted strategic partner for enterprise AI and analytics transformation.
  • Drive cross-sell and upsell opportunities across the Teradata portfolio.

Sales Execution

  • Lead complex enterprise sales cycles from opportunity identification through contract execution.
  • Coordinate internal resources to develop compelling business cases and customer proposals.
  • Facilitate executive workshops, value assessments, and strategic account reviews.
  • Maintain forecast accuracy and effective pipeline management.

Partner & Ecosystem Collaboration

  • Work closely with strategic partners including cloud providers, system integrators, and consulting firms.
  • Develop joint go-to-market opportunities with ecosystem partners.
  • Leverage partner relationships to accelerate customer acquisition and expansion.

Market Leadership

  • Maintain awareness of Financial Services industry trends, regulatory developments, competitive positioning, and emerging technologies.
  • Represent Teradata at industry events, executive briefings, and customer engagements.
  • Provide customer and market feedback to regional leadership and product teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of enterprise software, cloud, analytics, data, or technology solution sales experience.
  • Proven experience selling into Banking, Insurance, Securities, or Financial Services organizations.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex enterprise accounts and navigating multi-stakeholder buying processes.
  • Strong executive presence and consultative selling skills.
  • Experience developing and managing large sales pipelines.
  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Business-level fluency in Japanese and professional proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling AI, analytics, data platforms, cloud, SaaS, or digital transformation solutions.
  • Existing network within major Japanese Financial Services organizations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory, compliance, and risk management requirements within Banking and Financial Services.
  • Experience working with cloud hyperscalers and strategic consulting partners.
  • Familiarity with value-selling and enterprise account planning methodologies.
