About the Role

  • Teradata is seeking an AI-first Senior Product Designer with strong conversational design expertise to lead the creation of experiences that serve complex enterprise personas—from platform administrators to data leaders who need strategic visibility into consumption, governance, security, and business value realization across the enterprise platform.
  • You’ll be developing enterprise-grade governance and observability workflows that not only surface system metrics but also connect them to business impact and confident action. This role is central to shaping how humans and AI collaborate across our enterprise-scale data platform, delivering intuitive, accessible experiences that make complex tasks simple and powerful.
  • You’ll partner with product, design, information architecture, engineering, and AI stakeholders to craft experiences for enterprise leaders and decision-makers across regulated and high-stakes industries—where precision, trust, and compliance aren’t negotiable.
  • You’ll design context-aware, human-centered experiences that span GUI, CLI, APIs, and conversational interfaces. Your work will ensure data practitioners can build and run AI/ML solutions with the right-sized compute resources while administrators monitor, observe, and act effortlessly—all within a unified AI-first experience strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own product UX and language for core platform experiences, designing seamless handoff experiences between data practitioners, administrators, and platform decision makers—translating insights into actions and shaping moments that tie tasks to feature activation, resource expansion, and spend decisions.
  • Design conversational and agentic AI experiences: create conversation flows, dialogue maps, and structured prompts for assistants and multimodal product experiences.
  • Establish and evolve voice, tone, and persona guidelines to ensure consistent UX writing and conversational behavior across product surfaces (UI + assistant).
  • Craft UX writing and microcopy across the product: labels, system messages, onboarding flows, help text, and error states—ensuring clarity, accessibility, and enterprise-ready terminology.
  • Prototype in Figma and iterate rapidly using a mix of clickable UI prototypes and conversational artifacts (scripts, dialogue maps, prompt sets). Collaborate closely with PM and engineering, and be comfortable enough with code concepts to understand technical feasibility and implementation constraints.
  • Contribute to prompt libraries, intent taxonomies, and multimodal conversational behaviors that scale across the platform and accelerate consistent delivery.
  • Analyze and improve AI interactions: review analytics, transcripts, and user feedback to identify opportunities to improve conversation quality, task success, and accessibility; experiment, evaluate AI responses, and iterate based on data.
  • Define UX observability metrics (task success, adoption, trust signals) and iterate based on data-informed insights, including AI and conversational quality signals.
  • Shape onboarding experiences and best-practice guides that accelerate time to value and help enterprise users get value from Teradata quickly.
  • Add to scalable quality systems with agentic skills and taxonomy insights that help teams move at velocity while upholding our quality bar.
  • Collaborate across teams—product designers, content designers, conversational AI specialists, technical writers, engineers, researchers, and ML partners—participating in critiques and contributing to shared design guidelines and best practices.
  • Mentor and inspire teams to do their best work in AI and humans-in-the-loop contexts, modeling AI fluency and creativity.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years in product/UX design, with 1–3+ years focused on AI-driven and/or conversational experiences, ideally in enterprise-scale platforms.
  • Strong design and prototyping fluency in Figma; you think in interactions and can express ideas through UI prototypes and conversation flows.
  • Experience developing messaging and experiences for complex technical products and multiple personas (enterprise/B2B). You’re a strong systems thinker, with language as one of your primary lenses.
  • Demonstrated conversational design craft: conversation mapping, structured prompts, UX writing/microcopy, and the ability to simplify complex ideas into clear, helpful interactions.
  • Understanding of enterprise buying and usage journeys and the ability to craft experiences that work for end users, administrators, and customers simultaneously.
  • Portfolio showing strategic thinking and clear language that moved key product or business metrics (e.g., adoption, task success, time-to-value, trust).
  • Track record of building from scratch and problem solving in ambiguity; you can rethink and redesign systems with proven impact on user and business outcomes.
  • Empathy for users and an understanding of goals/jobs-to-be-done, with a curiosity for AI-powered experiences and a bias toward iteration and learning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing AI and with AI, including human-in-the-loop workflows and agentic interaction patterns.
  • Experience working on SaaS, enterprise, or B2B products.
  • Familiarity with conversational design tools and methods (e.g., conversation mapping, prototyping tools such as Voiceflow/Botmock, plus Figma).
  • History conducting user research and customer interviews to shape UX strategy, and using analytics/transcripts to iteratively improve AI interactions.
