HR Generalist – Europe

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and pragmatic HR Generalist to strengthen our European HR operations. This role sits at the intersection of local expertise and operational excellence - acting as an extended arm of our People Services team and supporting our Country Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across Europe for tasks that require on-the-ground knowledge of European employment practices, languages, or regulatory nuance.

You will be a member of the Europe People Team and work closely with our People Business Partners and our global Centers of Excellence (COEs) such as People Services, Global Benefits and Global Compensation to ensure employees and managers across Europe receive timely, accurate, and locally compliant HR support. A key part of your remit will be to continuously assess HR processes for opportunities to simplify, automate, or transition them to People Services or other COEs - contributing to a scalable and efficient HR operating model.

What You Will Do

  • Handle HR operational tasks requiring local knowledge, language skills, or in-country presence, and serve as an escalation point for People Services on complex or country-specific queries
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and statutory requirements across European jurisdictions
  • Pick up and resolve escalated or locally sensitive requests, and collaborate with People Services to ensure efficient ticket resolution within agreed SLAs
  • Partner with People Business Partners to ensure operational matters are handled efficiently, and support the local execution of global programs in collaboration with COEs such as Global Benefits and Global Compensation
  • Continuously identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or transition HR processes, and maintain up-to-date process guides and SOPs
  • Liaise with local legal counsel, payroll providers, and external authorities as required
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives as needed across the Europe People Team and global People organization

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of HR Generalist experience, ideally within a tech or software company
  • Solid knowledge of employment law and HR practices in at least two or more European countries (experience within the Benelux region would be advantageous but is not required)
  • Experience working within a shared services or tiered HR operating model (HR Business Partners / Shared Services / COEs)
  • A process-driven mindset with a track record of simplifying or improving HR workflows
  • Comfortable working within ticketing or case management systems (ServiceNow or similar)
  • Experience with Workday or a comparable HRIS
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills - able to work effectively with remote, globally distributed teams across different time zones and cultures
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in one or more additional European languages (such as Dutch or Italian) is a strong advantage
  • Solution-oriented and hands-on, with a can-do attitude and the ability to operate independently with minimal direction
