What You’ll Do
In this role, you will serve as the Principal Product Manager driving Teradata’s data security product management strategy and execution across our global portfolio. You will define and influence how Teradata protects the world’s most sensitive enterprise data; spanning data governance and compliance, identity and access control, AI Agent security among others.
Your impact will be shaping how customers safely harness Petabyte-scale analytics and AI through fine-grained access controls and end-to-end encryption and delivering a secure and trusted environment to run their mission critical analytics. You will accelerate the delivery of Enterprise security roadmap balancing innovation with performance, governance, and compliance.
Success in this role will be measured by delivering enterprise-grade data security solutions for hybrid and multi-cloud deployments, differentiating Teradata and unlocking measurable customer value while preserving scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Who you will work with
On our team, we collaborate with engineering, cloud infrastructure, security operations, governance, CISO organization and UX functions to bring next-generation data security capabilities into Teradata’s enterprise ecosystem. We are responsible for the product vision, roadmap, and execution of data security initiatives, ensuring they meet both business and technical objectives.
This role reports to the Senior Director of Product Management and will partner closely with product engineering and platform leaders worldwide. You will act as the strategic data security product leader for Teradata, influencing global product direction.
What makes you a qualified candidate
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Engineering, or related field.
- 12+ years of product management experience, including 6+ years leading data security, data governance, or cybersecurity products at enterprise scale.
- Deep technical expertise across the data security stack, including data classification and lineage, fine-grained access control (RBAC/ABAC, row- and column-level security), encryption at rest and in transit, key management (KMS, BYOK/HYOK), tokenization, and secrets management.
- Proven success embedding security and governance capabilities into enterprise data platforms, analytics, or cloud environments—ideally at petabyte scale.
- Strong technical fluency with identity and access management ecosystems and integration with enterprise IdPs.
- Hands-on familiarity with threat detection, audit logging, anomaly detection, and data loss prevention for structured and unstructured data.
- Demonstrated knowledge of hybrid and multi-cloud architectures and their impact on security posture, data residency, sovereignty, and cost optimization.
- Deep expertise applying compliance and regulatory frameworks and emerging AI governance standards to product design and audit readiness.
- Experience defining APIs, SDKs, policy languages, and developer integrations that make secure-by-default the easiest path for enterprise builders.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence C-level stakeholders—including CISOs, CDOs, and CIOs—and articulate data security product strategy to both technical and executive audiences.
- Track record of customer engagement, market analysis, and competitive benchmarking against the native security stacks of major cloud providers.
What you will bring
- Expertise designing zero-trust data architectures across cloud and hybrid environments, ensuring least-privilege access without compromising analytics performance.
- Hands-on knowledge of confidential computing, hardware-backed key management, and emerging privacy-enhancing technologies such as differential privacy and secure multi-party computation.
- Ability to bridge governed, sensitive enterprise data with modern AI/ML and analytics workloads—including how to secure data used to train, fine-tune, and serve AI models.
- A strong understanding of responsible data use—covering auditability, lineage, consent management, retention, and the handling of regulated data classes (PII, PHI, PCI).
- Vision to anticipate industry trends—quantum-safe cryptography, AI-driven threat detection, data sovereignty mandates—and position Teradata’s data security offerings as differentiated and enterprise-ready.
- Passion for enabling intuitive, secure-by-default user experiences (e.g., natural-language policy authoring, policy-as-code, automated risk insights, one-click compliance reporting).
- Ability to operate as a senior leader—setting strategy, guiding technical direction, and influencing globally across product, engineering, GTM, and the security community.
