What You’ll Do

Accounting Manager owns end-to-end financial accounting, statutory reporting, and local compliance responsibilities for the Italy legal entity, ensuring accurate US GAAP reporting, statutory compliance, and effective coordination with shared services, external providers, and corporate finance stakeholders.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness while enabling smooth finance operations and strong governance for the local entity.

Success in this role means consistently delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, achieving clean audit opinions, maintaining strong controls, and proactively identifying risks and process improvements.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Ensure US GAAP monthly accounts are submitted accurately and on time
  • Coordinate closely with Shared Services Centre accounting teams
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial results to the US parent entity
  • Prepare complete balance sheet packages and account reconciliations
  • Identify and resolve reconciliation variances with clear action plans
  • Prepare Italian statutory accounts accurately and on schedule
  • Manage statutory audit processes to ensure timely completion with an unqualified opinion
  • Ensure all accounting adjustments are processed accurately and within deadlines
  • Maintain supporting documentation and sub-ledger information
  • Own legal entity responsibilities including statutory reporting, internal and external audits, and tax compliance
  • Ensure finance operational processes (payroll, purchasing, expenses) run smoothly
  • Manage outsourced providers for payroll, statutory accounting, and tax compliance
  • Participate in global and local finance initiatives leveraging country-specific expertise

Local Compliance Responsibilities

  • Manage customer performance guarantees
  • Ensure withholding tax compliance for local and international vendors
  • Oversee import compliance, including advances and transaction-level reconciliation with import agents
  • Support the Tax team in responding to Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and VAT notices
  • Manage the e-invoicing portal and ensure full reconciliation with US GAAP
  • Support local compliance activities including:
    • Corporate card management
    • Medical insurance administration
    • Customer web portal management
    • External vendor GDPR compliance
  • Own certified mail handling and timely distribution to relevant teams
  • Support and manage statistical reporting requests (ISTAT), including access provisioning

  • Global and regional Finance teams, including Shared Services Centre accounting teams
  • US Parent Entity finance stakeholders
  • External auditors, tax advisors, and statutory service providers
  • Cross-functional partners including HR, Procurement, and local operations
  • This role reports into Finance leadership with responsibility for the Italy legal entity

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

  • 5–7 years’ experience within a large multinational organization, preferably in a Shared Services Centre environment
  • University degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience with large ERP systems, preferably Oracle and Hyperion
  • Hands-on experience managing month-end close and working with internal and external auditors
  • Fluency in English

  • Willingness to actively contribute to corporate initiatives such as process improvement, system implementations, and acquisitions
