What You’ll Do

  • Working within a team, design, implement, and test secure, scalable frameworks for autonomous AI agents.
  • Build intelligent automation and conversational capabilities using state-of-the-art GenAI and Agentic AI products.
  • Develop and maintain MCP server integrations for robust and efficient runtime execution.
  • Collaborate with AI researchers, platform and database engineers, and product managers to bring cutting-edge agentic capabilities to production.
  • Build foundational infrastructure and tools for multi-agent collaboration, memory/context management, and extensibility.
  • Drive enterprise-wide adoption of AI agents through easy integration and safe execution.
  • Leverage containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) for scalable, resilient deployments.
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, GPT, MCP-integrated IDEs) to enhance productivity and code quality.

Who You'll Work With

You’ll be part of Teradata’s global engineering organization, building the core technologies that power VantageCloud, our unified data and Autonomous AI platform. You will report to the director of Autonomous Database and Workload Management.  The team operates at the intersection of cloud computing, advanced analytics, and AI-driven platform automation — enabling self-managing AI and data platforms that analyze data seamlessly across hybrid and multi-cloud environments

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

We’re seeking a hands-on, Sr. Professional AI Engineer to contribute to the design and development of intelligent, scalable, and cloud-native AI systems.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in software development, backend systems, or AI infrastructure, with strong proficiency in Python and working knowledge of additional languages such as Java, Go, and C++.
  • Experience in building advanced agent-based architectures and runtime components for next-generation AI and LLM-driven solutions.
  • Ability to work with product leaders, architects, and platform teams to design, implement, and test our next-generation agent platform.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience / expertise in agent development, LLM integration, prompt engineering, and runtime systems.
  • Experience / expertise in MCP servers, vector databases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture, and NLP frameworks.
  • Experience in building autonomous agents, and leveraging AI tooling to create intelligent systems
  • Background in backend service development, API design, and building scalable distributed systems.
  • Familiarity / experience with SQL Database Engines and concepts,  specifically schemas and indexing. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in complex, distributed environments.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills; ability to mentor and collaborate effectively.
  • Passion for building safe, human-aligned autonomous systems.
  • Knowledge of open-source tools and technologies, and how to extend them for innovative solutions.
