Position Summary
The AVP Sales – Japan Market Growth will lead go-to-market execution across Teradata’s Japan market accounts, with a focus on scalable growth, new logo acquisition, and partner-led expansion. This role is accountable for building a high-velocity, repeatable sales motion across a broad portfolio of customers, working closely with ecosystem partners to extend reach and impact.
This position complements the Strategic Accounts organization by owning breadth, coverage, and growth across the Japan market, ensuring consistent execution while developing future strategic customers.
What You Will Do
- Own sales strategy and execution for Japan market accounts, including new logos and growth accounts
• Build a scalable, partner-centric sales motion to efficiently cover a broad customer base
• Develop and expand strong relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders
• Drive pipeline creation and revenue growth through direct and partner-led engagements
• Work closely with Japan partners (SI, cloud, OEM, and ecosystem partners) to co-sell, co-market, and extend market coverage
• Lead, coach, and develop Account Executives, instilling disciplined execution and clear accountability
• Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to align messaging, offers, and execution
• Monitor market dynamics and competitive trends, translating insight into action
• Deliver accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and performance reporting to leadership
Who You Will Work With
- Japan Strategic Accounts leadership to ensure alignment and progression of accounts over time
• Japan and global partners to drive leverage and scale across the market
• Marketing, Product, and Services teams to deliver customer-relevant solutions
• Customer Success to ensure strong post-sale outcomes and long-term growth
• JAPAC and global sales leadership to align priorities and execution
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
• 10+ years of enterprise or commercial sales leadership experience
• Strong understanding of the Japanese market, customers, and business culture
• Demonstrated experience building scalable sales motions across broad account portfolios
• Proven success working with partners as a core growth lever
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Strong forecasting, pipeline, and operational discipline
• Business-level fluency in Japanese and English
