Senior UX Product Manager - User Experience & AI

Our Company

At Teradata, we believe that people thrive when empowered with better information. That’s why we built the most complete cloud analytics and data platform for AI. By delivering harmonized data, trusted AI, and faster innovation, we uplift and empower our customers—and our customers’ customers—to make better, more confident decisions. The world’s top companies across every major industry trust Teradata to improve business performance, enrich customer experiences, and fully integrate data across the enterprise.

Role Summary

We’re hiring a Senior UX Product Manager to define and evolve the end-to-end user experience foundations and the first-time/returning user journeys across all access layers of our data platform. This includes web UI, APIs, conversational/agent experiences, SQL IDEs, and CLI. You’ll own experience primitives, global patterns, and experience contracts that enable consistent, scalable experiences while ensuring onboarding, navigation, and time‑to‑value outcomes for each persona.

This role operates horizontally across product, design, and UI engineering organizations and serves as the primary partner to vertical product managers when capabilities span multiple access layers.

“This role exists so product teams can move faster without reinventing foundational user experiences or creating inconsistency for users.”

Key Responsibilities

  1. Cross-Layer Experience Primitives

Define, document, and evolve the core experience primitives that must behave consistently across access layers, including but not limited to:

  • Identity and role context
  • Environment awareness (dev/test/prod)
  • Compute selection and switching
  • Data object discovery and reference
  • Action invocation, status, and feedback
  • Error handling and explainability
  • Human ↔ agent interaction boundaries
  1. Global Experience Patterns

Establish platform-wide UX patterns that apply across products and surfaces:

  • Onboarding and first run experiences
  • Help, guidance, and learning behaviors
  • Permission and access feedback
  • Agent interaction principles (trust, confirmation, explainability)
  • Terminology, naming, and semantic consistency

These patterns are contracts, not suggestions.

3. Experience Contracts Across Access Layers

Author and maintain formal experience contracts that define:

  • What parity means across UI, API, agent, IDE, and CLI
  • When divergence is acceptable
  • Required behaviors for GA readiness
  • Error and feedback semantics

Partner with vertical PMs to ratify these contracts and ensure adoption.

4. Shared UX Platform Roadmap

Own the roadmap for shared UX capabilities delivered by UI Engineering, including:

  • Identity and role resolution services
  • Shared navigation and discovery mechanisms
  • Explainability and cost awareness frameworks
  • Agent action frameworks
  • Onboarding and preference services
  • Experience analytics and instrumentation

This roadmap is prioritized in alignment with the executive UX strategy and is binding for shared UI engineering capacity.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience, preferably on platforms or infrastructure.
  • Experience working across multiple user surfaces (UI, API, IDE, CLI, or agents).
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Strong systems thinking and comfort operating at abstraction.
  • Experience partnering with design and engineering at scale.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in enterprise data platforms, developer tools, or large-scale SaaS.
  • AI or agent-driven user experiences.
  • Platform governance or horizontal product ownership.
  • Large, matrixed organizations.

 What Success Looks Like

  • Users experience consistent workflows across access layers.
  • UI Engineering delivers shared UX capabilities predictably.
  • Vertical teams reuse platform patterns rather than rebuild them.
  • Experience-related rework and duplication decrease.
  • New access layers integrate without redefining core UX concepts.

Application requirements

To begin the evaluation process, candidates must submit:

  1. An updated CV/resume.
  2. One or more case studies showcasing end-to-end product thinking, UX leadership, and measurable outcomes.
