What You’ll Do

As Senior Director, AI Engineering (AI Marketplace), you will:

• Lead the engineering strategy and execution for Teradata’s AI Marketplace platform
• Own the end‑to‑end marketplace lifecycle, including:
  • Partner and product onboarding
  • Listings, search, and recommendations
  • Access management and governance
  • Ratings, reviews, and trust signals
  • Billing, monetization, and entitlements
  • Deployment and operational integration
• Manage and mentor senior engineering leaders, including:
  • Senior Engineering Managers
  • Principal Engineers
  • Senior Staff Engineers
• Define platform architecture and build high‑quality, scalable distributed systems
• Drive technical excellence, reliability, security, performance, and operational readiness
• Partner closely with Product Management, Design, Security, Cloud Operations, and Go‑to‑Market teams
• Establish strong engineering practices across:
  • SDLC, CI/CD, and DevOps
  • Observability, monitoring, and production operations
  • Quality, availability, and security standards
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement

Who You’ll Work With

You will collaborate cross‑functionally with teams across Engineering, Product, Design, Security, Cloud Infrastructure, and Enterprise Architecture. Reporting to a senior engineering executive, you will work closely with stakeholders across Teradata to align on strategy, prioritize investments, and drive successful product adoption.

Required Qualifications (Non‑Negotiable)

• Proven experience leading large‑scale engineering organizations, including multiple managers and teams
• Deep expertise in building and operating distributed systems and cloud‑native platforms
• Strong backend engineering background (e.g., Java, microservices, RESTful APIs)
• Hands‑on experience with:
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Data systems (SQL and NoSQL)
  • Messaging and streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka)
  • UI or platform‑adjacent frontend technologies
• Familiarity with AI/ML ecosystems, including:
  • Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Agentic AI frameworks
  • AI developer or productivity tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Typically 18+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years leading senior engineering leaders
• Strong understanding of:
  • System design and architecture patterns
  • API‑driven and platform ecosystems
  • Modern UI frameworks and developer experience
• Experience building or scaling marketplace, platform, or SaaS products
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, observability, reliability engineering, and production operations
• Experience working in multi‑cloud or hybrid cloud environments
• Strong executive‑level communication, stakeholder influence, and decision‑making skills
• Ability to thrive in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments
