Role Summary 

We are looking for a hands-on people leader to manage a multi-disciplinary team of Product Managers, Product Designers, and Content Strategists/Writers based in India. This leader will be accountable for day-to-day execution, team health, delivery quality, and cross-functional coordination, while operating within a matrixed global organization. 

This role requires someone who is equally comfortable coaching individuals, resolving execution challenges, and collaborating with global product, engineering, design, and business leaders. Success in this role depends on strong judgment, clarity of communication, cultural fluency, and the ability to balance local team leadership with global alignment. 

Key Responsibilities 

People & Team Leadership 

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Managers, Designers, and Content Leads, supporting both individual growth and collective delivery 

• Own day-to-day people management, including goal setting, performance feedback, career development, and capacity planning 

• Foster a high-trust, inclusive, and respectful team culture, aligned with regional and global expectations 

• Act as a first-line escalation point for delivery, prioritization, and collaboration challenges 

• Product, Design & Content Execution 

• Ensure teams deliver clear requirements, high-quality designs, and effective product content that meet business and user needs 

• Partner closely with engineering, data, and platform teams to ensure work is feasible, well-sequenced, and delivered on time 

• Maintain strong standards for clarity, usability, and consistency across product experiences and documentation 

• Help teams translate high-level strategy into clear, actionable plans 

Cross-Functional & Matrix Collaboration 

• Work in a dotted-line model with global Product, Design, Content, and Engineering leaders 

• Represent the India-based team in global planning, prioritization, and review forums 

• Proactively manage dependencies, expectations, and communication across time zones 

• Balance local execution priorities with global roadmap commitments 

Operational Excellence 

• Establish lightweight, effective operating rhythms (planning, reviews, retrospectives, communication) 

• Improve team efficiency through clear ownership, prioritization, and decision-making frameworks 

• Identify and resolve bottlenecks related to process, skills, tooling, or collaboration 

• Track and communicate delivery progress, risks, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders 

What We’re Looking For 

Experience & Background 

• 10+ years of experience across product management, design, or technical delivery, with at least 3–5 years in a people-management role 

• Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams (PM, design, content, or adjacent roles) 

• Experience working in global, matrixed organizations with stakeholders across regions 

• Strong understanding of modern product development practices and user-centered design 

Leadership & Collaboration Skills 

• Respected as a people leader who can coach, guide, and challenge with empathy 

• Comfortable managing ambiguity and competing priorities 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in cross-regional collaboration 

• Able to influence without authority and build alignment across teams 

Regional & Cultural Fit 

• Deep understanding of India-based team dynamics, career expectations, and communication styles 

• Experience collaborating with teams in North America, Europe, or APAC 

• Comfortable operating in a hybrid work environment, balancing autonomy with accountability 

Nice to Have 

• Prior experience in platform, enterprise, or developer-focused products 

• Exposure to content strategy, UX writing, or documentation practices 

• Background in mentoring early-career PMs or designers 

• Experience scaling teams or setting up new delivery models in India
