Role Description
We are seeking a skilled Cloudera Administrator to manage and support our customer’s enterprise-scale Data & Analytics ecosystem built on Cloudera. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cloudera administration and operations, with working knowledge of ETL processes. This role involves ensuring the performance, availability, and reliability of the Cloudera platform, as well as collaborating closely with ETL and data engineering teams. The environment also leverages Informatica to orchestrate ETL workflows, making familiarity with such tools a valuable asset.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Administer Cloudera platform (CDH/CDP), including cluster configuration, tuning, and resource management.
- Monitor platform health, perform capacity planning, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
- Oversee and optimize ETL job execution in coordination with Informatica-based workflows.
- Ensure platform availability and reliability by managing high-availability setups and disaster recovery configurations.
- Support data operations, governance, and compliance processes within the analytics environment.
- Implement operational best practices and contribute to automation of recurring tasks.
- Work with infrastructure and application teams to support upgrades, patches, and deployments if and when required.
Skills
- Proven hands-on experience in Cloudera Administration (CDH/CDP).
- Strong understanding of Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, Hive, Impala, YARN, HBase, etc.).
- Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting within Cloudera environments.
- Familiarity with Informatica PowerCenter or similar ETL orchestration tools.
- Proficient in Linux systems and shell scripting for automation.
- Experience with monitoring tools (Cloudera Manager, Grafana, etc.).
- Knowledge of data pipeline and operations support processes in enterprise environments.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to write and optimize complex queries.
- Familiarity with databases like Teradata would be a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrable experience in supporting large-scale data processing platforms.
- Working knowledge of IT Service Management and operations concepts.
