What You’ll Do

  • Participate in monthly close activities, including preparing journal entries and conducting analysis of GL activity
  • Review, record and assess Investment and Equity eliminations to the consolidated financial statements
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure financial data integrity
  • Recommend reclassification and adjustments as needed
  • Participate in quarterly balance sheet review and flux analysis
  • Support corporate departments such as HR, Marketing, Tax, Treasury, etc.
  • Support internal and external audit requests
  • Interpret financial reports to communicate key findings to stakeholders
  • Document systems and processes and ensure compliance with SOX requirements
  • Handle ad hoc reporting and projects as needed

 

Who You’ll Work With

The GL Staff Accountant will be part of the Corporate Accounting team within the Teradata Corporate Controller’s group based out of Atlanta, Georgia. The Corporate Accounting team is responsible for the administration and performance of a wide array of general ledger accounting functions. Team members are expected to support a variety of corporate departments and interact with various levels of management. This role will work closely with the corporate and regional accounting teams and report directly to the Corporate Accounting Manager. 

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and motivated accountant to join our team. The role will play a key part in supporting month-end processes, maintaining accurate financial records, and contributing to the overall success of the accounting operations. Candidates must be comfortable executing and troubleshooting on their own, while hitting tight deadlines.

  • Needs to be comfortable working in a fully remote environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Well-developed Microsoft Office skills, including intermediate Excel proficiency
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP, specifically general ledger
  • Smart View experience
  • Experience working in accounting for publicly traded companies with international operations
  • Experience preparing and booking journal entries
  • Power BI experience or similar Business Intelligence tools
