What you will do ?

• Be the technical lead and subject matter expert for the Hadoop to Teradata Vantage migration projects conducted by GSIH.
• Design and develop migration strategies for Hadoop to Teradata Vantage migration projects.
• Understand the customer’s existing Hadoop ecosystem including all technology stack components involving batch and real time data pipelines.
• Understand the current implementation of Hadoop technology components such as HDFS, Yarn, Spark, Hive, HBase, Kafka, Nifi, Spark Streaming, etc.
• Understand proposed target architecture leveraging the modern data stack components such as Teradata Vantage ecosystem including object store like S3, Azure blob and other cloud native services.
• Leverage existing migration tools and methodology to efficiently convert Hadoop technical stack to the Teradata Vantage ecosystem.
• Work closely with customer SMEs on aspects such as scope, schedule and technical solution.
• Work closely with project manager to plan and organize the team structure and tasks to optimize the project execution.
• Ensure new knowledge is encapsulated in the form of best practices, processes and tools.
• Ensure that all projects are compliant with Teradata Architecture & Design Methodology and support technical reviews.
• Act as a mentor to advance technical, architectural, Data Modeling, and Business Analysis knowledge within team.
In this role you will..

• Successful delivery of Hadoop Migration projects.
• Be accountable for training and competency building for self and project team members.
• Be responsible for risk mitigation and escalation management.
• Work with Solution Architects and BACs in the regions to assist in any Architecture, Data Modeling, and Business Analysis related activities.
• Provide inputs to the GSIH and regional Architecture practices on best practices, artifacts, and methodologies.

Who You’ll Work With

• Report to, and work under direction Migration COE and Practice Leads to ensure smooth delivery of the projects.
• Work with junior team members to ensure smooth execution of the project and assist and mentor the team members.
• Work with Project Managers to ensure tight control over scope, schedule, cost and risk management.
• Work with customer SMEs and other stakeholders such as Teradata account teams to ensure appropriate expectations are managed throughout the project execution.


What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

• Minimum 15 years of IT work experience, with 5+ years in Leadership roles
• Minimum 10 years of Data Analytics related experience.
• Minimum 5 year’s experience in Hadoop ecosystem.
• Deep knowledge of Hadoop components such as HDFS, Yarn, Spark, Hive, HBase, Kafka, Nifi, Spark Streaming, etc.
• Proven record of customer facing technical delivery and Technical Architecture
• Experience in leading effective teams and collaborating across business and functional units to drive results.
• Knowledge of Teradata product is a major plus.
• Knowledge of ETL tools such as Informatica is a major plus.
