What You'll Do

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated cloud / software engineer with prior software development experience.  Needs the ability to multi-task across development efforts beyond just coding but system configuration, testing, and research assignments. Needs to be successful working with an integrated development team. Experience with Teradata Vantage / Advanced SQL Engine and other Teradata technologies would be a plus. Needs good cross team communication skills. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Experience working in fast paced agile scrum development environment.  
• Experience with one or more programming and scripting languages including Python, Ansible, Power CLI, JSON, C/C++.  
• Design, develop, code, test & debug application software. 
• Leverage low level Operating System knowledge to configure/debug in Linux/Unix.
• Follow documented specifications and plans with minimal supervision.
• Tool suite familiarity (Jira, Wiki, Slack, Artifactory, and Microsoft Teams).
• Establish good working relationships with the team.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills.

Who You'll Work With

This is your chance to be a part of the Teradata Vantage on VM Engineering team acting as a key influence and enabler into our Teradata on VM product strategies and offerings. The Teradata Vantage on VM Engineering team focuses on private cloud Teradata VM implementations. 

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

• BA/BS or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 
• 2+ years’ experience in a professional software development position.
• Strong knowledge of coding, OS system configuration/debugging, and scripting skills.
• Experience with virtual machine deployment and lifecycle management (KVM, VMWare).
• Some level of SQL / Teradata Advanced SQL Engine knowledge.

What You Will Bring

• Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly.
• Familiarity with VMware technologies.
• Good knowledge of working with Linux or Unix operating systems.
