What You'll Do

The Advanced AI Strategist (AS) is a key leader in the Americas Region, this role will be primarily focused on defining and championing advanced AI initiatives within our customer base. With a diverse background spanning various industries, the incumbent will spearhead customer-driven application R&D efforts, collaborating closely with engineering and product teams to bridge the gap between customer requirements and technical capabilities. This includes the delivery of sophisticated AI applications, such as large language models. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping industry strategy, providing thought leadership, and driving the evangelism of Teradata's value proposition, AI strategy, and use cases. They will collaborate with Sales Leaders, AI Industry Specialists, Industry Strategists and partners to empower the GTM team, ensuring effective execution of our Analytics & Industry strategy and alignment with customer needs and market trends.

Key Responsibilities include:    

  • Thought Leadership and Communication with customers/prospects/internally 
  • Define and commission Teradata's advanced AI strategy, highlighting AI/ML's transformative potential with scalable data foundation. Lead efforts to illustrate industry impact and drive Teradata's Annual Recurring Revenue growth. 
  • Partner with Regional and Industry AI Sales leaders to create a comprehensive advanced AI go-to-market strategy and use case portfolio that enables Teradata to successfully compete for new analytic workloads.  
  • Foster the establishment of a vibrant Community of Practice (CoP) within the Americas data science community. Develop, curate, and share reusable assets within this CoP to empower the broader data science organization in effectively competing for advanced AI applications. 
  • Support pre-sales activities by providing deep expertise in specific industries / horizontal domains helping to develop business and technology analytic connections, ‘trusted advisor’ relationships and account growth plans into line of analytic buying centers. 
  • Cross-functional Collaboration - Drive partnership and collaboration with engineering and product teams to drive product development initiatives and align capabilities with customer-driven AI applications, ensuring the delivery of innovative solutions that meet market demands. 
  • Drive Expansions with business outcome selling 
  • Assist in driving business-focused demand generation by providing deep analytics and technical thought leadership tailored to business outcomes, ensuring alignment with GTM sales execution strategies.  
  • Demonstrate the seamless integration of analytic partner capabilities with Teradata solutions to address client requirements for simplification, ensuring that combined offerings effectively streamline complex processes and enhance operational efficiency. 
  • Top Customer Engagement - Directly engage with senior stakeholders in Teradata’s largest accounts within the target industry, focusing on advanced AI leadership, to comprehensively grasp their challenges and opportunities. Advocate for the adoption of Vantage + ClearScape in customer-driven application R&D, customized to meet their specific needs. 
  • Understand the business value realized by customers from existing usage of Teradata  
  • Identify and quantify (business value and customer ROI) use cases deployed by customers 
  • Create AI maturity roadmaps based on future use case business value generation 
  • Act as a “force multiplier” by contributing to the development and curation of sales and pre-sales assets 
  • Capture and share customer case studies 
  • Support the documentation of case studies and share learning and best practices via virtual communities 

Who You'll Work With 

  • Account Team: support Account Executive with account plans, senior-level business engagement and industry knowledge; lead Business Value Assessment engagements.  
  • Customer: Support Account Teams to develop trusted advisor, value-based relationships with senior business decision makers in top accounts. 
  • All: Capture key learnings from internal and external SMEs, customers, analysts and competitors to inform the industry strategy. 
  • Partners: Influence and leverage SI and ISV relationships to capture learnings and influence future direction aligned to industry strategy.  
  • GTM Programs: Influence and leverage industry and analytics use cases to support programs, enablement and solution accelerators 
  • Product:  Influence and leverage product roadmaps including TIO aligned to the industry strategy. 
  • Marketing: Influence, leverage and co-develop demand gen assets, messaging and materials aligned to industry. 

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business or analytics related field.  
  • 15+ years-experience in the focus industry (working in or selling / consulting to), with a thorough understanding of current target industry trends, challenges and opportunities. 
  • 10+ years-experience in the application of analytics to the solution of high-value business problems, with a well-researched perspective on what the widespread deployment of AI/ML mean for the focus industry. 
  • A proven ability to establish credibility with advanced AI leaders.
