What You’ll Do

Migration and Modernization is a global Center of Excellence (COE) that plays a crucial role in assisting our customers in migrating and modernizing their analytical ecosystems to the Cloud. The COE operates in close collaboration with regional teams and customer groups, diligently understanding their migration and modernization journeys to offer tailored roadmaps and solutions that align seamlessly with their business strategies. In a short instinct, the COE has successfully established a strong presence across all AMS/APJ/EMEA and within product management organizations. Teradata has already migrated over 650 customers using a variety of migration approaches, reflecting the significant growth potential. The COE has received a mandate to aggressively support our customers in achieving cost and schedule-optimized migrations, ensuring that our customers have a delightful experience working with us. The Global Solutions Team Migration Architect plays a critical role in ensuring the success of leading an assessment project, working with product management to refine technical competency and services, refining effort estimations primarily for Data Pipelines (ETL) migration to modern/cloud native ETL tools. This position combines technical expertise (~70%) with strong management skills (~30%). It offers an excellent opportunity for candidates who are eager to make a direct impact on Teradata's Cloud First strategy and stay updated on the latest Teradata technologies and cloud services.

• Lead effort estimation primarily for conventional Data Pipelines (ETL) migration to modern/cloud native ETL tools including but not limited to Informatica IDMC, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, AWS Glue and others.
• Lead assessment POC/POV on modern/cloud native ETL tools integration/usage with VantageCloud Lake
• Research and perform POCs on competitive analysis between modern cloud native 3^rd party ETL tools and VanatageCloud Lake native capabilities (TTUs) and generate report
• Research and author Data Pipelines (ETL) migration to cloud native tools best practices and ensure its implementation.
• Brainstorming and technical leadership on Solution development with Teradata SEs/CSMs/CSEs
• Give effective demos to internal Teradata team and external partners/customers
• Learn and independently be able to use Teradata accelerators and tools
• Learn new Vantage features on modernization and integrate in the solutions.
• Look for automation opportunities to bring down the overall effort and schedule of project.
• Partner with resource management team and GDC to identify right skills for projects execution.

Work with the Teradata Engineering team and Product Management to understand new features and offers that can be leveraged as part of migration.  

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

• Bachelor’s Degree from a reputed Educational Institute

• Post-graduate degree is a plus

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding on complete ETL process and Data Warehousing fundamentals
• Strong hands on experience on 1-2 ETL tools (Informatica/DataStage/Abinitio /ADF/DataBricks) etc.
• Sound understanding on Database usage – DBQL and resource usage
• Exposure to data pipelines performance tuning
• Significant exposure to most of Teradata’s product offerings including Vantage-as-a-Service (VaaS), QueryGrid, Data Mover, TTU, and the Teradata Applications suite.
• Broad understanding of the surrounding 1st and 3rd party cloud ecosystem, including those used for Data Integration, Business Intelligence, and Advanced Analytics
• Knowledgeable of the various cloud deployment approaches including public, private, managed, and hybrid cloud variants.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Data Warehousing, Big Data, Data Integration, and Analytics.
• At least 5 years of experience with the Teradata Platform leading complex implementation project.
• Expertise in Ecosystem, Solution, and Data Architecture disciplines
• Domain architecture experience including network, disaster recovery, and high availability with knowledge of data integration, virtualization, management, consumption, and sharing sub-systems.
