We are looking for experienced Engineering Manager with exceptional engineering skills in building strong teams and innovative solutions as part of our Core Product Engineering organization. A leader who has great experience with the art of Agile Engineering - who shares our enthusiasm and passion for technology and innovation, along with our expertise in creating software and solutions for our customers.

Role & Responsibilities

·        This Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading the engineering team for development and delivery of Telemetry and Observability product enhancements, quality, and release activities.

·        Candidate will be expected to technically interact with the team to design/develop/review/execute on product development strategies and plans.

·        Candidate will effectively inspire and lead a distributed, collaborative, and cross-functional high performing team in a flexible, fast-paced work environment.

·        Manage team members including setting objectives, reviewing performance, hiring, talent management, establishing a positive and collaborative working environment.

·        Manage project risks, defects, and issues with action plans; develop contingency plans for schedule slips and project issues.

·        Lead resolution of inter-organizational issues relative to schedule and availability; report progress and escalate issues as required to Management to ensure prompt resolution.

·        Collaborate effectively with the other internal organizations, engineering teams, architects, PM, and Field organizations on product content, dependencies, priorities, and delivery schedules.

·        Proactively offer insight and solutions to business-driven issues.

Requirements

·        Previous supervisory experience of 2 or more years with strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

·        Experience working in cloud-native, services-oriented development environments and good understanding of one or more public cloud platforms i.e. AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.

·        Strong prior experience in development/engineering and knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python and Go.

·        Ability to effectively deal with challenging situations, setting up and managing expectations.

·        Ability to communicate complex concepts concisely and effectively.

·        Ability to lead, plan and manage a complex project with strong sense of ownership and accountability.

·        Working experience in Agile Software Development with strong data driven management approach.

Additional /Desired Skills

·        Experience and knowledge of Teradata products.

·        Experience in all aspects of the full product lifecycle processes.

·        Customer obsession and experience with working with customers including requirement analysis and product support.

·        Eye for detail and able to communicate your thoughts and ideas across global teams.

·        Passionate about mentoring others, document and always sharing your key learnings to assist with growth of others team members.

·        Knowledge of Cloud software data collection and analysis tools.

Scope

·        Engineering manager role closely working with the team to design/develop/review/execute on product development strategies and plans, reports to Senior Engineering Manager.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

·        Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.

·        12+ years of software engineering development experience and at least 2 years of people management experience.
