External Description:

We’re looking for a versatile copyeditor to join our Content and Brand Strategy team who will turn messaging and copy into compelling content for our B2B audience. 

This role will work closely with brand, creative design, and content marketing/operations teams, as well as organizational stakeholders to review and revise global content appearing across digital and physical channels, internal/external communications, and go-to-market assets for global marketing. The opportunity is ideal for a driven, detail-oriented individual with exceptional editorial and writing abilities, particularly within the technology space.  In this role, you will report directly to the Editor-in-Chief of Marketing Content and Operations. 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Compose copy that incorporates our Brand messaging and invites readers to want to know more
  • Work with drafts and outlines provided by content requestors to update our positioning and reflect the target audience pain points across personas[RZ1] 
  • Give “life” to flat copy by polishing language and word choices to better resonate with the intended audience
  • Edit copy for inaccuracies, discrepancies, and errors across various asset types; understand and consistently reflect the brand voice of Teradata in content
  • Conduct research and fact check as needed to ensure technical details are appropriate and accurate for target audience, message, and asset type
  •  Review and edit content across website, including articles, landing pages, and product pages, optimizing for SEO/SEM, web best practices, and brand voice/messaging
  • Proofread and edit text at various stages of the writing process and in response to feedback from content marketing and/or design
  • Manage Teradata writing guidelines, regularly maintain the document, and ensure the organization has access
  • Be familiar with the voice and tone of executive staff in order to edit related content appropriately
  • Be sensitive to content types that have legal implications and work with legal to address any potential issues
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and customer challenges
  • Be knowledgeable of Teradata technology and product benefits

Skills & Attributes  

  • You are skilled at taking complex, technical content and simplifying it into clear, crisp copy that is easy to understand
  •  You are familiar with B2B content types, such as whitepapers, data sheets, B2B email formats, presentations and possess a strong attention to detail
  • You deliver in a timely and collaborative fashion within a fast-paced, deadline-driven global team

Basic Qualifications  

  • 3-5 years of experience in copyediting/copywriting, at least 1-2 years of experience working in technology/B2B space
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Detail-obsessed with providing high-quality, error-free content
  • Over-the-top grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills and top-notch proofreading abilities
  • Familiar with brand, style guidelines, and CMS systems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of the English language
  • Experience in meeting deadline-oriented work and managing multiple projects/priorities at once
  • Clear, effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience working cross-functionally across marketing and other departments

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with B2B audiences in the data and analytics space is a plus  
  • Understanding of cloud technology is a plus
