Summary Description

The Tax Manager - India has responsibility for managing the Company’s indirect and direct tax compliance and financial reporting for India and assisting in tax compliance and financial reporting for other Asia/Pacific countries.  Responsibilities include assisting with the local country and US income tax provision process for financial reporting purposes, preparing income tax packages to be utilized for external US GAAP financial reporting, assisting with tax authority audits / inquiries, assisting with the implementation / maintenance of tax planning initiatives, and working with the Company’s 3^rd party tax compliance outsourcing partner.  This position reports to the Senior Tax Manager based in Gurgaon, India.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Work directly with accounting personnel in India and other Asia/Pacific countries, as well as the Company’s 3^rd party tax compliance outsourcing partner to help ensure timely and accurate direct and indirect tax return filings are completed and tax obligations paid.
• Act as tax liaison with the accounting group in regard to tax issues / planning opportunities / compliance.
• Assist with oversight / maintenance of all tax initiatives, including working with the controller’s group to ensure that the Company’s transfer pricing policies are reflected properly and are accurately documented for US GAAP and local statutory purposes.
• Assist with the accurate reporting through income tax provision packages of current and deferred income tax, including liaising with accounting personnel in determining US GAAP to local statutory adjustments and estimating statutory to income tax adjustments.
• Work with accounting personnel to help ensure appropriate compliance and accounting policies/procedures are followed in regard to all direct and indirect taxes.
• Assist with managing income and indirect tax audits and transfer pricing inquiries using outside service providers if necessary.
• Assist with the preparation / review of quarterly tax account reconciliations. 
• Manage / support tax planning projects / initiatives, as required

Work Environment

 

• This position is located in Hyderabad, India. The Company allows “work from home”, but periodic in-person meetings in the Company’s Hyderabad office will be required.

• Position will not require significant travel.

 

Qualifications

 

Ÿ         Chartered Accountant with 5-7 years India tax experience within a corporate tax department or professional service firm (although this position includes responsibilities outside of India, the candidate is not necessarily expected to have prior tax experience or knowledge outside of India)  

Ÿ         Recent tax accounting experience, familiarity with US GAAP reporting requirements for income taxes preferred  

Ÿ         Ability to establish and meet tight deadlines

Ÿ         Strong management skills

Ÿ         Team player

Ÿ         Strong communication/ documentation skills
