External Description:

We are searching for a skilled professional with an innovative and enterprising mindset to serve as Senior Manager and oversee our Data Center engineering team from San Diego. In this role, you will direct a team of qualified specialists in the administration and supervision of all shared computer, storage, and monitoring services. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to deliver and maintain these services throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:
• Effectively lead and manage a team of professionals in the implementation and maintenance of highly complex systems, analyze capacity trends based on the impact of new technology, and counsel others on practical and appropriate technological system solutions
• Transition environment to a hybrid data center model appropriately leveraging both on-premises and public cloud capabilities
• Implement and mature an automation and self-service capabilities for enterprise where appropriate
• Drive innovation and debt reduction through the adoption of modern platform and solutions
• Participate in strategic and tactical planning to develop emergency procedures and contingency plans for supported systems and environments
• Integrate diverse monitoring techniques with mapping and alerting software to collect data, perform real-time analysis, and mitigate events that may have a negative impact on the business
• Ensure that all new equipment introduced into the existing infrastructure strictly adheres to company policy regarding standardization, testing, and configuration
• Implement and optimize support processes and procedures to assist in resolving user and system generated productions issues while conforming to all established service levels
Requirements:
• 3-5+ year of managing/leading an engineering staff
• 5+ years of experience with delivering and managing cloud environments and solutions (public cloud services, native object storage, containerizations, etc.)
• 5+ years of experience designing cloud native solutions
• 5+ years of verifiable experience working with virtual platforms and geographically distributed teams
• 10+ years of proven experience delivering and managing technology services on a global scale
• 10+ years of experience with Microsoft servers and Multi-Domain Active Directory (domain controllers, security, group policies, DNS, and application LDAP integration)
• 10+ years of experience with core data center technologies (virtualization, storage, network, and compute)
• Advanced knowledge of planning and forecasting techniques and ability to drive the budgeting process
