Infrastructure Engineering Intern

Location: United States, Remote

The Platform Engineering group at Teradata is a multi-disciplinary organization involved in many aspects of product development and support. The ideal candidate would have an interest in large computer system architecture including firmware and software design and have working knowledge of computer hardware. This position is a great opportunity for an intern to gain real-world experience on challenging projects with the opportunity to innovate, collaborate, and grow your capabilities.

Knowledge of Python, REST API knowledge, web services and docker, and Linux operating system is preferred. Personal skills include written and oral communication, good judgment, tenacity in resolving difficult technical issues, thoroughness in documenting and testing new technologies, curiosity in pursuing new technical developments, motivation to work independently and learn continually. You will be part of the engineering team working alongside veterans who will guide and mentor you.

Assignments

• Work on the Backup and Restore team to develop a REST API to collaborate with our BAR partners in building plugins for our Backup and Restore solution
• Opportunity to work with various public cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and performance characterization

Qualifications: 

• Must be enrolled in a BS/MS Computer Science or Computer Engineering program.
• Knowledge of Computer Architecture and Hardware, and the Linux operating system. 
• Programming skills include Java, C/C++, Python, Perl, Linux shell scripts, Linux command line, Linux working knowledge, GitHub, and software IDEs
