The VP of Business Process & Program Management, is a leadership role within Teradata’s Finance, IT, and Operations (FIO) team, reporting to the SVP, Business Process Reengineering.  The role provides a unique opportunity to assemble and lead a high-performing team that will manage end-to-end process design for the enterprise and establish a center of excellence for program and business process management inside of Teradata.  The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success building, leading, and developing inclusive teams of process analysts, architects, and program managers, leveraging a combination of agile best practices and tools to ensure the successful execution of highly visible and strategic cross-functional programs.

Job Summary:

The VP, Business Process & Program Management will be leading the Office of Program and Business Process Management, with the sole purpose of bringing organization and structure to the company’s most strategic initiatives and operational imperatives.

The role will work with internal stakeholders to structure the organization’s approach to and end-to-end process redesign with the overriding goal of creating, executing, and sustaining a high-functioning team to drive our strategy, mature our operating model, enable our people to do their best work, and build scaled solutions to some of our most complex problems.

The VP will have robust Program Management skills with the ability to manage across multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment, ability to drive consensus and alignment, and facilitate closure of complex issues and decisions with minimal noise and conflict.  Strong executive presence and stakeholder alignment are key competencies to ensuring this team’s success.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Build a best-in-class Program and Business Process Management Office, leveraging industry best practices in portfolio management, agile methodologies, and templates, together with business process analysis and design, to increase the probability of successful and timely completion of critical projects and programs
  • Drive organizational alignment on strategic priorities & key operational initiatives, aligning internal & external resources, ensuring progress & flagging risks
  • Build strong relationships with business and functional leaders (Finance, People, IT, Product, Strategy, Marketing) to influence decision-making across the organization, provide thought partnership & challenge to action, as needed
  • Support the annual business planning process to ensure it fully captures required investments & value creation plans that align to Teradata’s strategic priorities
  • Ensure a robust and well-controlled transition of value creation plans to business-as-usual, ensuring sustainability in the ongoing business
  • Own, inform and maintain an understanding of future state end to end business processes and solution functionality, partnering across Teradata
  • Lead demand management and strategic resource allocation for the broader FIO organization, in line with company level priorities.
  • Rigorously set and measure operational metrics and outcomes, and continually improve processes through industry-leading methods.

Required Education and Experience:

  • 15+ years in Program Management / Business Process Management Leadership role
  • 15+ years of experience in managing transformation initiatives that involve transformation of operating models, organization design, processes, people, and technology
  • 15+ years of project management experience, preference for experience in end-to-end Operating Model transformations, functional transformation programs
  • Highly collaborative, team-oriented, and strong consensus builder with keen ability to align and rally large teams to achieve critical milestones
  • Strong business analysis, problem solving skills, and logical mindset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills written and oral; confident interacting with all levels of employees, including Executive Leadership Team
  • Results-oriented; ability to handle multiple, time-sensitive projects and prioritize accordingly, while focusing on the quality of work delivered
  • Detail-oriented problem-solver who can employ leadership, critical thinking, and time management skills
  • Experienced people leader with a focus on creating high-functioning, inclusive teams
  • Ability to manage a budget and meet financial targets
  • PMP Certified
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) and/or graduate degree
