Job Summary: 

The candidate will be part of the Automation and Modernization CMDB (Configuration Management Database) team. We are hiring a Data Architect experienced with ServiceNow-CMDB or similar product inventory (install base) database and workflows.  This will be working with a team to design an end to end architectural solution. Primary responsibilities include creating, documenting and maintaining Architectural Documents related to the Dataflows related to Product Inventory Database. Candidates are expected to have excellent communication and documentation skills.  This role will be working with a broader team to ensure the architecture solution fits seamlessly with the Master Data Management (MDM) program. 

 

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data.
  • Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating client operations, applications, and programming.
  • Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations.
  • Install and organize information systems to guarantee company functionality.
  • Prepare accurate database design and architecture reports for management and executive teams.
  • Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
  • Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features.
  • Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems.
  • Educate staff members through training and individual support.
  • Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.

 

Education / Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or relevant field.
  • 1-2 years previous experience as a software developer or data architect or in a data management role
  • Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Outstanding problem solver.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly present technical information to fellow technical professionals as well as non-technical peers
  • Experience with software network design and implementation

 

Preferred Education / Experience: 

  • 5 years previous experience as a software developer or data architect or in a data management role
  • Understanding of mapping sales to inventory data models
  • Familiarity with Logistics concepts and impact to inventory tracking
  • Understanding of product lifecycle concepts and how to align them with shared components within a product definition
