Lead Data Integration Consultant

The Lead DI Consultant specializes in the design and development of the ETL environment, processes, programs, and scripts to acquire data from source systems and apply the data to the tables in the database.

Working as the DI Lead within the Managed Services team supporting one of Teradata’s premier accounts, this individual must have the skills necessary to understand the overall data warehouse architecture. The Lead DI Consultant designs and builds the ETL environment with the specific toolset required by the client. The Lead DI Consultant participates in making decisions on database design and overall solution architecture to maximise operational availability of the customer’s environment. The Lead DI Consultant may act as Technical Delivery Lead where required.

 Key Areas of Responsibility

• Capture ETL Requirements
• Design, develop, test, support processes for extracting, transforming and loading data from source systems to DWH and Data Marts
• Maximise environment availability through design and deployment of robust operational processes
• Ability to write performant Teradata database scripts (TPT, BTEQ)
• Operationalise all Data Integration processes to maximise process robustness
• Design the processes to meet service level agreements for data timeliness and frequency
• Analyze and improve query and solution performance
• Ability to optimize physical data models as required
• Building dynamic framework to compare between different layers of data
• Creates and maintains all required documentation (BRD, Designs, Unit Test, UAT …. etc.)
• Mentoring and Coaching junior team members

Essential Requirements

• Very Good communication skills, both written and oral at all levels of stakeholder
• Very Good Presentation Skills
• Very Good Analytical and Problem Solving Skills
• In depth knowledge of DWH concepts
• In depth knowledge of the Microsoft Excel tool
• In depth knowledge of Teradata RDBMS although other enterprise relational database knowledge will be considered
• In depth knowledge of one of the enterprise strength ETL tools i.e. Informatica, DataStage etc
• Operational mind-set key to maximise environment availability
• Experience in implementing ETL solutions for large, enterprise-grade customers
• Developing junior team members
• Good knowledge of Teradata Solutions
• Good knowledge of Linux Commands and Shell Scripting
• Good Knowledge of NiFi Scheduler Tool.
• Good Knowledge of ITIL standards
• Egyptian National
• Previous working experience at Egyptian Government/Armed Forces Authorities

 

Desirable Requirements

• Knowledge of a Metadata driven approach is an advantage

Knowledge of elements of the Big Data stack is an advantage
