About the Opportunity

The VP, Corporate Strategy & Strategic Planning is responsible for driving Teradata's corporate strategy process with both internal and external teams.  As part of the Strategy Office, they will oversee the organization’s activities related to mid and long-range strategy development, as well as short-term strategic planning.  They will work closely other executives to define and develop goals and objectives.   The lead will design and drive the strategic planning calendar for Teradata, ensuring functional strategies/plans are aligned to the overall corporate strategy.


The VP, Corporate Strategy & Strategic Planning will be ultimately be responsible for setting corporate priorities and communicate the strategic plan throughout the organization.  They will oversee the coordination of resources and activities regarding mission, vision, and strategy and ensure that employees and other stakeholders are working toward common goals.  They will track progress through against Intended outcomes and adjust the organization's direction in response to changing environments and competitive pressures.  They will create a virtual community of thought cross functional thought partnership to Identify the organization's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and adjust plans/activities accordingly.


Primary Responsibilities:

§  Drives the holistic Teradata strategy process end-to-end with Internal and external teams

§  Cascades corporate strategy down to both the depth needed within each function

§  Helps facilitate functional strategic plans, ensuring alignment to corporate strategy and activities

§  Responsible for refreshing strategic areas of focus and activities at an ongoing basis

§  Designs and drives strategic planning calendar, with clear quarterly activity and objectives

§  Owns business performance management and the creation of success metrics In which the organization will report and be accountable for, reporting out to BOD/ELT/Key stakeholders

§  Creates a community (Internal/external) of thought partnership and provides a viewpoint on Teradata's position in the market

§  Oversees coordination of resources across the organization related to strategic Initiatives


Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

§  BS/BA degree or equivalent; MBA degree preferred

§  Demonstrated success leading corporate strategy or strategic initiatives; preferably in the technology industry

§  Preference for formal experience and in strategy development, such as in a major management consultancy

§  Detailed and process oriented; with ability to work on both strategic and tactical Initiatives

§  Advanced interpersonal, listening and communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills, and a track record of effectively communicating with and influencing at all levels

§  Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

§  Proven project and time management skills with ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

§  Demonstrate personal and professional values consistent with Teradata’s values

§  Be highly collaborative, organized, detail oriented and a stickler for accuracy



A Bachelor's degree required. A Master’s degree in Finance or Business is a plus.
