As a Pricing Analyst at Teradata, you'll be joining a close-knit team of analysts and managers who provide support to the Americas Sales Organization by developing bids, quotes, and offers. We are targeting someone who has strong attention to detail (contract review), is comfortable with research (competitive pricing), and has the desire to grow within the team and company. You will be responsible for:

  • Detailed pricing and P&L analysis for deals utilizing Teradata's Pricing Tools and Pricing Automation
  • Providing vital counsel to Sales, Sales Management, and Deal Managers on product alternatives, pricing options, competition, and price negotiation techniques as well as providing secure bid approval as required via Teradata’s Pricing Automation deployment in Salesforce
  • On a daily basis, working with sales teams to provide information, analysis, and recommendations that assist the Region/Industry VP and Sales management to win business and increase profitability
  • Developing cross-functional relationships with Sales, Planning, Revenue Recognition, Product Management, and other functions


What You'll Do

  • Support a Teradata Sales organization (General Manager, AVPs, and their sales teams)
  • Evaluate bid pricing and terms & conditions, identify risks and options, and offer recommendations to sales management
  • Provide price structuring & scenario analysis relevant to sales strategy
  • Provide advice and business consulting for sales teams and Region VP
  • Interact on Pricing projects and present to Teradata Leadership Team Members
  • Understand data analytics technology and competitor products and tactics
  • Participate in many aspects of sales-oriented activities including participation in customer calls and visits with the sales team
  • Support and provide pricing for Support and Consulting/Professional Services
  • Participate and provide input to account planning sessions
  • Consolidate opportunity pricing & prepare revenue recognition analysis for major bids
  • Submit approvals using Pricing Automation in Salesforce, ensuring that appropriate approvals have been obtained as per Corporate Policy
  • Gather and disseminate general product pricing information
  • Monitor price & cost changes, and other product information as it impacts deals
  • Provide opportunity & competitive feedback to Americas region/corporate level pricing
  • Strong leadership and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work closely with multiple functional areas to achieve desired outcomes
  • The ability to professionally discuss business issues with management and offer advice and alternatives


Your Background (required)

  • Strong English/Spanish Communication Skills are required. Portuguese could be a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree related to analytical or technical field will be required (Industrial Engineering, Economics, Finance, Operations Research)
  • 3-7 years of professional work experience
  • Strong capability in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Windows applications
  • Demonstrated Analytical/Financial skills gained through formal education, certification, or work experience
  • Self-directed individual and the desire to continue learning/growing professionally


Ideal / preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of web-based applications, sales support tools, or other modern programming languages
  • Experience in Finance, Technology, or Sales-support function
  • Knowledge of Data Warehousing/Analytics and Cloud
  • Prior Pricing/Solution Architect/Financial experience
