Summary Description: 
Reporting into the CMO (Chief Marketing Officer), the Senior Vice President of Global Field Marketing has responsibility for all field related marketing activities, covering the functions globally. The role requires a highly experienced modern marketer, a strong collaborator and leader with a proven record of accomplishment in creating and delivering impactful marketing programs. This individual will be the ‘field general’, representing marketing with regional sales leadership. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a strong capability to work lockstep with regional sales leadership as the marketing ‘partner, with an understanding of the rhythm of the business, pipeline, GTM (Go to Market).

 

Responsibilities:

 

The job of the Senior Vice President of Global Field Marketing is to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the field marketing teams across the three regions: Americas, EMEA (Europe Middle East Africa), and APJ (Asia Pacific and Japan).

 

This includes:

  • Partnering with each of the three Regional Field Marketing Vice Presidents to ensure there is an integrated marketing plan for each geo that combines both locally created marketing programs and global activities into one integrated approach.
  • Leading a team of three Regional Field Marketing Vice Presidents to own the creation and execution of a go-to-market marketing plan for direct.
  • Define the targeted campaigns for the company and drive focused execution including promotional strategies and plans that drive growth and retention.
  • Analyze the sales cycle, channel mix and customer segmentation to formulate ideas and approaches to optimize the selling process across different customer segments and personas.
  • Drive the creation and implementation of a robust go-to-market marketing plan to drive revenue, retention, and brand awareness.
  • Build global marketing programs that are scalable and repeatable in support of rapid growth.
  • Manage, develop, and coach a high-performing field marketing team deployed globally.
  • Develop the annual industry field marketing plan for the company.
  • Translate strategic marketing plan into actionable quarterly targets, goals, initiatives, and metrics.
  • Introduce innovative marketing ideas, channels, and tactics to help scale the business.
  • Align marketing plan and execution with unique geographic market needs.
  • Execute offline and online event strategy that meet corporate and field objectives e. g. leads to Sales, awareness, advance major accounts, Industry/trade/User group, company, and partner events.
  • Oversee all aspects of planning for all field campaigns and events, from concept and planning, through execution and follow-up.
  • Working to ensure successful lead capture/nurture and handoff to sales teams
  • Maintain a 90-day rolling calendar of integrated activities including webinars, marketing campaigns and other programs.
  • Work with sales teams to create and execute both strategic and tactical campaigns such as call downs, email blasts etc. Align with product marketing team to ensure consistent branding and messaging, as well as differentiated offers based on buyer personas.

 

Success Criteria:

The successful candidate will work to develop a strong understanding of Teradata’s business strategy and the economics of the business. The individual will have a clear line of sight of what Teradata is trying to achieve and connect Field Marketing’s activities to those goals,

 

They source talent and structure the geo teams to work across the marketing COEs (Center of Excellence) and other cross functional teams to deliver results. The sales operations team will be a strong partner and each side will need to collaborate to build an effective relationship that accelerates results.

 

The leader will have a strong analytic sense and background, using data as an asset, leveraging insights to improve business outcomes.

Experience and Education:

  • At least 10-15 years of proven work experience with an ideal mix of strategic, technical (product management, technical marketing) and business (consulting, field marketing, sales, and/or channel) background
  • Knowledge of and comfort working in an agile/cloud-based business, understanding the changes in process and skills required to do so
  • Deep experience leading a global field marketing organization at scale
  • Ability to excel at creating marketing strategy and vision and seeing it through to successful execution
  • Thrives operating in both left-brain and right-brain mode ability to easily distill highly technical concepts into marketing messaging, vehicles and campaigns that are accessible, easily understood, and creative
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue through highly effective marketing and measured accountable results
  • Exceptional leadership skills and proven ability to attract, develop and coach rock-star talent
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (internal and external)
  • Steeped in digital and social marketing practices
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships across multiple departments and functions
