The role and expectations

As a Global Consulting Product Manager, you will be responsible for driving efforts to collect and analyze data to evaluate existing, and potential, service offerings and target markets. Identify and monitor competitors and research market conditions or changes in the industry to establish or extend our consulting services and underlying portfolio offers.

 

What you can expect

While being responsible for select consulting service areas and the investments for those services, you will drive major market initiatives by conducting complex quantitative and financial market-based business analyses to support the following efforts:

  • Inbound product management inclusive of gathering customer and field (internal) research, competitive intelligence, and industry trends to establish product vision and strategy while managing the underlying roadmap
  • Outbound product management inclusive of product marketing responsibilities (e.g., value proposition messaging, planning go-to-market (GTM) strategies, overseeing readiness activities, assisting with customer / field communication messaging, new product launches, and customer advisory board events)

Who you will work with

You’ll be working with the Product Management Consulting Services team specifically focused on some of the global services. You will form partnerships with our Product Engineering teams, Consulting teams, and Sales and Marketing teams to develop integrated solutions by:

  • Soliciting cross-functional input to prioritize and define offerings, features, and roadmaps
  • Collaborating to establish GTM strategy and positioning
  • Determining when an offering is ready for launch

What you will do

  • Create go-to-market strategies and implement sustainable business improvement plans to execute strategies at the market and channel level.
  • Develop recommendations and analyses that pioneer ideas for go-to-market/channel strategies capitalizing on the seriousness and magnitude of business opportunities.
  • Analyze and interpret financial and operational results against targets through the preparation of various complex analyses by reviewing financial and market performance.
  • Use various reporting tools and systems including financial, market share, Salesforce and various BI tools to gather and analyze information.
  • Conduct external research and financial analysis and provide recommendations to build the business unit growth plans.
  • Gather and analyze information, formulate and test hypotheses, and developing recommendations for presentation to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Work with industry analysts to communicate our strategy, impact, and gather intelligence to shape and refine our strategy.
  • Assist sales, marketing, product management, finance, and consulting teams with analyzing and interpreting financial and non-financial business metrics to create action plans that grow the business.
  • Assist as needed with key initiatives and projects within the Product Management organization.
  • Lead the day to day execution of initiatives while guiding and developing end products.
  • Build proven leadership skills and leverage your interest in inspiring others, building strong relationships, and creating a true followership.

Qualifications we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business//Management/Finance or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years total experience working on strategic initiatives within a large, matrixed, and complex organization, including at least 2+ years of progressively more responsible product management, consulting, or similar experience required.
  • Prior experience working with teams to create meaningful market/growth strategies and product design and development requirements.
  • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and have advanced analytical skills and judgment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly energetic and multiple-engagement environment, dedication to teamwork, a strong work initiative, and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas.
  • Expertise in data tools (Excel, Microsoft BI, Tableau, etc.) to support problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to identify opportunities, formulate supporting business cases.
  • Ability to develop financial models to quantify potential opportunity, profitability, or pricing scenarios across offerings and markets. 
  • Demonstrable ability, and gain support from stakeholders with minimal supervision and manage projects from start to finish.
  • Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of others and develop relationships across the organization.
  • Experience developing content for executive communications, both written and verbal with clarity and precision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal capacities.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA)
  • Previous Big 4 consulting or growth strategy experience
  • Knowledge of advanced analytics (e.g., data science) and related technology to test various hypotheses
