Project Manager
The role of Project Manager (PM) is to oversee the delivery of all projects within an assigned portfolio (typically aligned to industry verticles). The PM supports the Engagement Manager in positioning and selling new engagements and then overseeing the delivery of those engagements.
The PM is also responsible for mentoring assigned resources and providing feedback to management. The PM will typically be managing their own engagement(s) in addition to the areas of responsibility set out in this role description.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Support offer development, input and review into sales proposals and support the local team during bid reviews.
- Provide guidance on the scoping, planning, cost estimating and pricing of consulting projects. Review statement of work and risk assessment, including but not limited to defining services and deliverables, resource requirements, project budget, project risks, and client’s responsibilities.
- Ensure that Teradata’s knowledge resources and tools are fully leveraged (e.g. Consulting Services Portfolio)
- Review weekly project reports with particular emphasis on any HIP and red or amber engagements.
- Review project financials comparing budget, actual and estimate and completion figures.
- Conduct monthly portfolio reviews, providing support and guidance to Engagement Manager(s) and the geography director.
- Identify the potential for change requests based on client delays or scope change.
- Identify potential new opportunities
- Identify improvements to delivery approach for clients
- Participate in the development and communication of Teradatas’ methodologies, processes, IP and best practices.
- Identify assets for use or lessons learned and share this knowledge across the delivery excellence community.
- Mentor less senior project managers to execute their projects within the established guidelines and standards.
- Understand and execute using accepted project management techniques e.g. Agile.

- Analytics and Data Management Technologies: Experience delivering enterprise data and analytics solutions, ideally across an ecosystem of open source and Teradata commercial technologies.
- Implementation Approaches: Experience of different implementation options for implementation of data & analytics solutions, including Waterfall and Agile development techniques, an understanding of Teradata’s advocated positions and of governance requirements for each one.

Education and Experience Requirements
- BS, BSc, or master’s in business, technical or professional discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrable experience delivering complex projects to their conclusion, on time, on budget while maintaining good relations
- Professional qualifications are advantage e.g. Scrum certified, PRINCE2 etc.
