Our summer internship program lasts 10-12 weeks beginning in May/June and ending in August/September. The location for this position will be anywhere in the US and virtual. OUR TEAM

This position is for a Software Engineer Intern in the Antares team. The Antares Team is comprised of multiple scrum level teams working towards the same goal:
to provide comprehensive, reliable, and scalable SaaS-based solutions for the Teradata Database product on our supported public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). This includes:

Deployment and operations of Kubernetes clusters and service mesh infrastructure
Common/public Microservice for provisioning and runtime operations related to a SaaS application.
Centralized monitoring and logging for microservices, instances, and cloud resources.

We are looking for a current undergrad or graduate student candidate to join our fast-paced and cutting-edge development organization that is at the forefront of our “Teradata Everywhere” strategy.

Responsibilities:

This position is for a Software Engineer Intern in the TeraCloud team within the Vantage– Core organization. The position will work as a part of the Teracloud Provisioning and Configuration (TPAC) POD Services Team, directly with their mentor on the

following:

  • Enhancements to Teracloud Provisioning Services
  • Component Integration and configuration

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and creative current undergrad or graduate student who is eager to learn cloud technologies and can contribute to the success of Teradata.  They will also have classwork or independent experience with Python, RESTful services, public cloud (AWS) infrastructure and services, K8S, computer science fundamentals (e.g. RESTful API, algorithms), Git, and agile methodologies.

Job Functions:

  • Member of a fast-paced agile development team responsible for Teradata Cloud Services.
  • Work closely with software engineering mentors to deliver one or more features within the scope of Cloud Services.


Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in BS/MS Computer Science program with graduation dates between August 2022 - June 2024
  • Excellent troubleshooting, listening, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience with public and/or private cloud environments such as Amazon
  • Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, VMWare ESXi, etc.
  • Experience in RESTful services development.
  • Experience in K8S and Container development.
  • Knowledge of security best practices for RESTful services.
  • Comfortable working on a Linux system.
  • Experience with Git.
  • Experience with DevOps automation tools and libraries.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
