Finance Planning & Analysis Manager- Australia/New Zealand

Reporting to: Teradata APJ CFO

Location: Sydney, Australia

Responsible for the financial management of the Go to Market business for Australia/New Zealand. The Finance Manager is accountable for producing the annual plan, managing the monthly financial Outlooks, and providing financial reporting, analytics, and advice to the business leaders.

This is a key role within the business and the successful candidate provide sound financial advice to support the decision-making process for key stakeholders including the Business VP, APJ CFO, Geo Directors, and Sales Management.

Key Responsibilities

Develop order and revenue plan, margin plan, expenses plan based on HC planning plan and validate annual plan against any other corporate targets

Perform revenue recognition assessment

Review bid PnL’s against contract terms and proposed revenue recognition

Manage the month-end Revenue / COR/expense accounting by advising of relevant GL entries to the service center in Dublin

Review outlook against contract terms and revenue recognition principles to verify the outlook achievability, identify risks

Review Hyperion submission/results

Liaise with the sales support team on order processing/ billing

Partner with other functions (e.g., consulting services team, accounting, sales, marketing, tax)

Track sales team and PS compensation

Track and act on financial key figures (AR, inventory) of the organization

Provide ad hoc analysis to the management

 

Experience/Skills Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 10+ years’ experience in an analytical role such as business operations and/or sales operations
  • 5+ years’ experience of coaching mentoring and leading Finance and Sales Support team
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships with people in an open, friendly, accepting manner
  • Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606/IFRS 15
  • Ability to operate in an environment with a level of grey with large amounts of data and multiple data points
  • Advanced Excel skills including complex lookups and pivot tables
  • Able to work well under pressure and to very tight deadlines
  • Results-oriented, conveying a sense of urgency and driving issues to closure
  • Significant experience building budgets and forecasts and stress testing through sensitivity analysis
  • FP&A experience
  • Experience in business process re-engineering
  • Experience using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau
