Does Teradata’s Cloud First strategy excite you?  Would you like to take that excitement and use it to teach and train others?   Technical Trainers play a key role in ensuring our Customer Support & Services (CS&S) team members are equipped to support our customers.  This person will focus on developing and teaching curriculum as well as creating and facilitating hands on labs for our internal support resources and external partners.

The successful candidate is a confident, articulate professional with the ability to translate technical content into easy-to-understand training. You have experience gathering requirements and assessing design needs to craft effective training. Above all, you will have a passion for learning and are a team player with a growth mindset.

Our team is responsible for driving the training, change management and communication plans for major operational and transformational activities and measuring the effectiveness of those methods to ensure success. You will need to be able to understand the cross functional impact of the initiatives being driven and engage and collaborate with key stakeholders, such as Go-to-Market (GTM), Delivery, and Product Management, to ensure training curricula align to key organizations and partners where required. 

 

 This individual will be responsible to:

  • Develop and deliver various Teradata University courses designed the following target audiences: IBM SSRs, GSO Support Teams, SEMs, Cloud Operations, and Managed Services.
  • Learn new technical tools and topics such as Cloud, Networking, structured problem solving methodologies or any CS&S Services Portfolio trainings etc and develop and deliver courses on these new topics
  • Deliver classes, including a mix of instructor-led, virtual instructor-led and/or other forms of high impact learning at a distance
  • Record technical training and labs for use in WBT courses
  • Assist with creating and maintaining technical curriculum for Teradata CS&S resources and our partners
  • Drive the increased technical capability of Teradata resources from New Hires to SME consultants
  • Work collaboratively with subject matter experts and stakeholders to provide real-world scenarios and examples for course materials
  • Develop labs and exercises in line with the learning objectives for different training programs
  • Maintain close working relationships with the environment team and assist them in streamlining the systems/instances for training delivery
  • Work closely with different SMEs, expert groups, Technical Training members and stakeholders to ensure best content creation, training delivery and impact
  • Ensure projects, training and enablement deliverables and resources represent the perspective and needs of the internal and external customer

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hands on experience in Cloud services (Compute, Storage, Networking and Security)
  • Strong knowledge on supporting Teradata Vantage technology both in the cloud and on-prem
  • Course development and/or technical writing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent communicator
  • Experience developing on-demand courses and learning assets utilizing Camtasia, Captivate, Lectora and Articulate
  • Motivated self-starter who can work independently as well as in a team
  • Overall, 8 years of experience in the technology sector
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (outside of COVID-19 exception period)

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in computer science or information technology Certification
  • Teradata Vantage as a Service experience
  • Cloud Certification (Azure, AWS Google)
  • Technical instruction/delivery in a high-tech environment, both virtual and in person for a global audience
  • Multiple spoken languages, a plus
